Blocking a bidder?

Sorry gents, but can someone advise how I can block someone from bidding on my items please? Unfortunately they have already bid (despite my notes on the item to ask first as an international bidder!  :roll: ) and I want to cancel their bid as well.

Any advice, greatly received, as its all a bit new at selling.

but i think you need to cancel a persons bid first before you put them on your blocked list:

when you are putting up a listing and you dont want international bidders, you might want to put your listing up with restrictions of some sort then. if you look down the A-Z indez, its easy enough to find out how to:

oh and if youre going to cancel peoples bids, you might want to mail them and explain why.

it isnt such a big deal to mail internationally (hence just put the shipping costs in to wherever)...

it gives you a bigger market to sell to and when you cancel someones bid, it can really p some people off and they won't come back and bid again ever on principle, so be careful how you deal with folk :)

I agree with Al that you might reconsider limiting your sales to UK only bidders.  I sold stuff on ebay for a couple of years and never had any problem with international sales - sent packages to Singapore, Finland, Japan, Italy, etc, etc.  I might have thought twice about shipping to Brazil or Malaysia, as I have heard those areas seem to be postal black holes, but it was kind of cool to see how far-flung the afficionados of this hobby seem to be.

I do have a blocked bidders list though.  There is a thread you might want to have a look at:  viewtopic.php?t=2438&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=blocked+bidders&start=0

Fantastic, thanks guys.

I have absolutely no issue shipping worldwide, as I have already done that for guys here and on a couple of recent sales. However, I have asked that international bidders contact me before bidding so I can get a fair price on shipping.

But, on from that, the mentalist guydrin_avalon who was banned from this very site last year after a brief arrival in the "Introduce yourself" thread has bid, and I don't need/want his money or hassle... 8)

is that the chap from france?

if so, i have dealt with him a ton of times - hes a great guy and never a problem for me to deal with. but hey, what do i know :)

It is Al, but I think I'll take a chance and watch for the abusive emails rather than deal direct with him.

I'm just wary of buyers who have a record with more than one seller or Acaeum member, but thanks for the advice again, it is gratefully received.
