Shadow in the South used to go for quite a bit more than that and I dont believe I have ever seen Bree go for as much as it did.  What really surprised me was the price for Sea Lords of Gondor.  I know it is in shrink but $111?  Wow!  8O

I wonder which edition of the game the hardcovers are. I'm guessing 3rd (but which version?), but he also has some 2nd edition books for auction, so who knows. Interesting, maybe? Worth the starting bids...no.

Personally I think this is a "bizarre item currently on eBay", but what the hay:

That's a new one on me.

Both the FREE fast play game and Crypt of the Smoke Dragon were promo items but Smoke Dragon does seem harder to find.  I think multiple copies of Free Fast Play were given to stores to given away and promote the line but only 1 copy of Smoke Dragon was given to a store to use and play.

Normally I think these sell for about $25 each.

These come up from time to time but I would not call them rare. They usually sell for quite a bit less than that asking price.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Ah, sorry. Somehow I missed knowing about this one back in the day (I guess I was starting to lose interest, temporarily, around 1983), so I thought they might be unusual.

It's a toy with which you could burn yourself.  That's definitely unusual (at least these days)!

I am not sure where they met the consumer. I never saw one until about 10 years ago. My local hobby store never carried it and I never saw one at a convention or other similar outlet. I am betting they got distributed to mainstream hobby outlets or craft-type stores. Possibly K-mart type outlets, too.

Gotta love the "VF" sticker on it too :D

Were these shrinked when released? If I remember correctly, they first came out in 75-76.
