Well, I was going to post this collection of nice looking monos:

Actually, I think bclarkie has the record. He won an auction in something like 5 seconds if memory serves. Part of the reason these sold so fast is that you under-priced them about $200.00.

Got anything else for sale? :twisted:

Sorry, I wasn't clear. That wasn't my sale. I meant that I was going to post it as an interesting item on eBay (since I already have these monos), and I'm not a reseller (too much effort).

If I had been the seller, I would definitely be slapping my head.

Hey Bracton, since when do you live in Pflugerville, TX and sell under the name digital_nazgul? :wink:

And the real reason they probably sold as fast as they did is because the buyer is one of Troll & Toad's flunkie's that does nothing else all day but search Ebay for auctions like this.

Odd thought here, any chance Digital Nazgul is Jeff Dee (former TSR & Villains Vigilantes artist???) He lives and works in Pflugerville, and when he bought something from me awhile back he mentioned he was working on a project....maybe he sold the items to raise cash. Plus, I've often found that people who work in the industry itself are notoriously clueless when it comes to figuring out how much they are worth ("This old brown box? I've had it around forever, EGG gave it to me when I worked on one of his projects...I'd take $100 for it"). If memory serves Paul Jaquays (another Texas resident) was absolutely shocked at the prices he got on some of his last ebay auctions of his personal collection.

And both Jeff Dee and Paul Jaquays are welcome to join the TAM whenever they want...the initiation ceremony, however, is a rough one :twisted:

If that is what TFM is doing, it's not entirely stupid, if perhaps a small bit misleading (I wouldn't call it dishonest because of someone breaks his reserve they can get the item). Finding out exactly what your items are worth on the market is a sound strategy if you later want to resell to an interested party. Plus, if you manage to cut Ebay and their onerous fees out of the sale then double kudos to you.

Gotta agree with the above here. Seems like he may be using eBay as a research tool and it's a far more accurate research environment that any of the message boards, because the facts and figures are real. And of course I don't think anyone here will question whether or not TFM will sell once his reserve is mat anyways. Seems like a pretty sensible use of eBay if you ask me. Especially seeing as some would not be inclined to make him feel welcome if he considered returning to this forum. Something I never really understood.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

At the risk of derailing this thread (feel free to move it), this is actually quite an interesting discussion about how someone with a large collection can use ebay to value or sell their stuff. As to tfm, I remember he stomped off in a huff. Full marks to him for not coming back (no point storming off if you are just going to come back again in a day - as Petula Clark* puts so well

), but if he wanted to come back, I don't think anyone would make him feel unwelcome.

I know if I stormed off, I would have to pop back in a few months.

There is still the UK one up. Out of curiosity I did enquire as to what T&T they would accept for theirs (despite the stock pic, overcharged shipping and associated other problems... :roll:

), and they came back very quickly with $550. So, if anyone is willing to deal with them, Could maybe be persuaded to go lower...

The listing for Rahasia states "Tracy Hickman has stated that less then 200 copies were produced and its quite possible less then 20 remain in existence!"

Anyone believe only 20 copies are still in existence? I have some doubts.
