I'm still waiting for a good clone of the iPad to come out.  The iPad itself is overpriced and underpowered with some limitations that just don't work for me.  Anyone looking to buy one of these should wait.

Funny, I sold my iPad this week... got nearly retail for it, too, which is good since I have absolutely no need for the dumb thing. Even better that I got it free.

I was going to purchase an iPad but after seeing my friends use theirs and reading other reviews, I decided against it.  While I still want one, I just don't think its worth the money I would have to pay. I was set to get a 3g one if I could have gotten it used and for much cheaper than retail but those little buggers definitely hold their value. I also don't expect them to drop in the next few months due to the holidays so I guess I will be waiting until next year when an (hopefully) Android based tablet comes out. One that I can load spreadsheets and cntrl+F with! :-D

I have just recently started playing with the ipad at work and it seems like it would be a pretty nice thing to have at a gaming table for the DM. Has anyone on here actually used the ipad in gaming sessions? Being able to access a pdf (of say a rulebook) and being able to search for specific information inside would be pretty convenient. Plus having access to multiple pdfs at once isn't bad either. Just curious.

Or have we already had this discussion and I missed it?  :D

Real easy way to flip through PDFs if you store your PDF library on it. The real issue is Apple don't believe in memory card technology, so you can't really put a lot on it. The processor is adequate, but the current iPad GPU and RAM are both barelt capable. If you wanted to buy into this type of technology, you'd be minded to waiting for the next generation early next year (maybe even before Xmas.) It only has 256mb of RAM in it.

Yeah, I had heard from a friend who is well in on the Apple stuff, that the iPad is being upgraded in January and that waiting is best if you want one. Although, having looked at his, it is a good bit of kit, IMHO as a non-techno user.
Just maybe, its a non-essential good bit of kit, when I have a very good laptop!

But then, my first computer was a Vic-20.

One of my friends had a VIC 20, and he had mabye 30 odd games for it. I think he had all of them.

Its good part was being able to run cartridges immediately, rather than waiting for the damn tapes to load! I had most of the carts & tapes.
Still got the Vic-20 and box though.  8O

Happy days.

No idea, it's lurking in the parents loft... Picked up a Speccy emulator and ROM disc just the other day, and that's brought back some memories!!

http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/prem ... angry-fans

All this nonsense over Wayne Rooney?  This is the same guy who didnt score a single goal for England in the World Cup and has thus far only scored a single goal for Manchester United in five games this season.  He cheats on his wife with a couple of call girls while she is pregnant...not to mention the other prostitute(s) he spent time with earlier in their relationship.  And now he wants to leave his team and go play somewhere else because he doesnt think they have what it takes to win anymore?  Or is it because Sir Alex took him down a peg or two because of his lack of work ethic and all of his off the field troubles?

He's like Terrell Owens (hothead), Tiger Woods (infidelity), LeBron James (media spectacle), and Randy Moss (plays 100% only when he feels like it) all rolled into one.  Why any respectable team, and their fans, would want this guy and all the headaches he brings is beyond me.

good points, even if you think football/soccerr are different things.

Quite right - petulant, greedy, low class twat

When I look at the decency, professionalism and general 'good egg' attitude of Ryan Giggs and compare him to his teammate it just meakes me  want bto take a baseball bat to Ronneys knees (perhaps OTT but this is after all, our national game)

(BTW I don't even like Man Utd - If Rooney is allegedly worth £45m then what price Gareth Bale from my team?

Think of WR as a monkey working for bananas. He only sees his work, his tyre on a rope, and the bananas. He likes banans. He likes f"cking other monkeys. Life is that simple. There is nothing going on upstairs that wouldn't be going on in any other primate's brain.

A lot easier to understand his mentality when you get it into the perspective of his world.

WR just needs to spend the remaining part of his contract in the reserves, so his value and potential wages plummet. Then he may get some perspective. Fans protested at his house last night, so I'd expect his next match to receive a hostile reception. And when he sulks at that, it'll just get worse.

And on a positive note, the world no4 womans golfer yesterday turned down a £15.3m contract because she wouldnt change nationality from Taiwanese to Chinese. Perhaps Rooney should join the human race.

And now Rooney has signed a 5year deal to stay at M.Utd for a reported £180,000 A WEEK.

Hmmm, not that keen to leave then, was he?

Fans protesting outside WR's house is pretty much like dole scroungers protesting because their benefits get cut. What the F has it got to do with them? If they stayed at home and got an early night, maybe we'd get our post at a reasonable time the following day.

TBH, who wouldn't put up with Man'U for £180K a week.

Imagine how much he'd be worth if he could play football to an international standard?

guys over in the US....just a thought - possibly someone could post up any thoughts in return...

was thinking if any of you guys fancied donating some books to the shop? you have some very cool books over there thats impossible to get over here and would be nice to try and get my hands on some? they dont have to be expensive or anything, just something different to what i can get my hands on over here?

was then thinking if its possible to maybe m-bag them or something - do they still even do that?

if anyone is interested, please mail me and we will see what we can do!

all fun tho and its fine if y'all dont want to - was just a thought to possibly have some different stuff to play around with in the shop.

best

Al
