yeah all is good here. though i done something strange to my knee and havent been able to run for 2 months.

docs today and then hospital for an x-ray, so back to docs in a week and then see whats what about a way forward with that!!

been quite nice not working, have had lots of time to read, write stuff and generally be at my own leisure so its been cool.

dunno if i mentioned that i went to south africa? cant remember last time i was on here..... but i did the event there and there are clips on youtube. but if i come over, i will bring some footage / pics with me for you to looksee. hopefully i can sort something anyways cos we all need to do some catchup! its been a long time :)

good to hear the con is looking good and pretty popular. always a good thing to see, so hopefully i can arrange something and get over there. would love to play in some games of course, but because i cant say for sure whether or not i can get there, i guess i am just going to have to miss out.....sucks not playing in a game of Tim's and would have been nice to get a piece of Rob's game this time round, as well as anything else thats happening, but ah well :)

anyways mike i will call you towards the end of the week and we can talk more then ok?

best

Al

Would love to visit chaps, but funds and life aren't helping at the moment.

However, kind of struck a deal with the good lady, so hoping to make the trip next year...  8)

Al:  if you're able to attend, I'm more than happy to give up my spot for you in either Tim's or Rob's games:  I played in both last year.  I'm also happy to make room for you in my Castle Greyhawk event if you'd like, too.

thats incredibly generous of you Al...if i am able to sort something, i will holler and we can work something out. i wouldnt want you to miss out on all the fun either and i am sure i could get into just ONE game, which would make me happy.....we shall see either way.

if i come, i will run a game off the fly so that anyone not in a game can come play...as usual, it will be something different as it always is :)

i will drag out something really obscure and see what happens :)

best, Al

Hey guys!

The con is now 10 weeks away! Just wanted to let everyone know that Raffle ticket sales are lagging a bit behind last year's sales....I don't know if that is because people plan on purchasing them there, or the economy, or everyone is waiting on their tax refund check...

The con is entirely non-profit. Doug and I don't make a cent. Our wildest dreams would be to break even this year or in the future so we could keep this great con running into the future.  Raffle ticket money goes straight into running the con, paying for the hotel, gettiing the great guests, etc. Tickets are $5 each and really help the bottom line.

http://ntrpgcon.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=66

The more tickets you buy, the more items you have a chance of winning. Last year Chris Finch won THREE of the highly coveted raffle prizes. The spread was pretty good, though I think Chris was the only person who won more than one item.

Not to mention the prizes, which are wildly out of line with the small amount a ticket costs!  Below are the items we have already confirmed for this year's show. Items with an asterisk you don't have to be present to win, and I will mail them anywhere in the world so that isn't a problem:

- must be present to win

* Dragon Magazine # 1
* Castle Zagyg - Upper Works
* Strategic Review # 1-7 (each raffled separately)
- Custom module for North Texas RPG Con by Tim Kask (2ea)
* DCC #C9 w/NTRPGCon Logo (2ea)
* Jim Holloway special Limited Edition set from Cairn of the Skeleton King 14 prints per set on 65# paper(2ea)
* DCC #51 Castle Whiterock (2ea)
- Custom module for North Texas RPG Con by Steve Winter (2ea)
* Core Rules Expansion CD 2.0 in shrink
- Swords & Wizardry limited edition miniatures by Center Stage Miniatures
* Dungeon Magazine #1
* Forgotten Realms Menzoberranzan boxed set - VF
* Tabletop Warriors Fantasy Rules from 1984---Signed by author
* NTRPGCon 2009 Dice Bag w/all 6 special guests signatures
* Chainmail 3rd Ed - 8th print - in shrink
* Dragon's Craig LE Lithograph by Paul Jaquays (signed if you want)
- Other World miniature to be painted by Angela Imrie

We are still working with Otherworld minis and Angela to see which mini she will paint for the con this year...her two painted items (the lewd Beholder and the Idol mini) were probably the most commented on and coveted prizes last year. We have a good idea what the mini will be this year, and if it works out it will be a doozy!

Also, we are accepting any and all donations of games, modules, fantasy books, etc for the con. The items (depending on what we think they will be worth) will either go into the "free" raffle (everyone who attends pretty much wins something there), the "paid" raffle, or the auction we are hoping to have Saturday night.  Again everything there goes back into the con. Even your old extra copy of B2 will be accepted!

Mike, do I need to register for the Con to buy tickets. I won't be there, but I can't just hit the 'Add to Cart' box at the moment

Cheers
Dave

No, you don't have to register for the site or the Con, you should just be able to click the "PayPal" button and then edit the number of tickets you want.

or click directly on this link if it works better for you:

Jeff;

You have to call the hotel directly, otherwise they won't have any rooms available. We still have 13 rooms however they won't show up on the sites. You have to ask for the North Texas Con Rpg discount. If you have any trouble let me know...!

Yeah, I've made the decision.  I will visit the evil empire (Texas), land of arrogance, dumbass's with cowboy hats and big ass belt buckles.  I will try to speak unintelligently so as not to stick out like a sore thumb.
