If it must be that way, then they should declare it as Company X's Auction, a portion of the profits of which go to Charity. It is disgusting that the convention organisers have chosen to sell out the good nature of it's loyal devotees to line another company's pockets. This stinks of backroom deals and individiuals making personal money out of the deal.

I see no conflict in anything that T&T is doing. They are simply running an auction that they have won the right to run and make some type of profit from. Having been to many auctions, I see nothing different with what they do than others have done. If Gencon LLC thought there was any impropriety I believe they would address it. You keep on insinuating that there is something back-door going on. I've been there, and if there is, it eludes me and many others as to what T&T is doing improperly. On the original topic of T&T shipping and handling charges, I really don't see what the fuss is about here either. If one would just review their various auctions that are currently up it can be seen that, for the most part, their auctions have reasonable, perhaps slightly higher than norm, shipping charges. But, they do include insurance in most of their auction, which is more than likely why the charges go up as the cost of the item goes up. Anomalies/errors will occur but to imply that all of the shipping charges are outrageous is simply not fair. For a larger eBay seller, they seem to get quite a bit of positive feedback. I've personally had good experiences with them thus far both at Gencon and eBay. Doesn't mean that I won't have issues in the future but they seem willing to work with individuals to resolve issues.

It never occurred to me that he might be ,making a profit out of the venture, and I'm happy to believe that he did not, and believed in offering his services for free out of a willingness to be charitable and a sence of wanting to contribute to the community and society that, let's face it' he helped build from those early years. That is why, when T&T step and reportedly charge, and all of a sudden 80% of the product is tat, 40% of the product shouldn't even be there, and some of it is being mis-sold; I have to ask what political motivations and if financial insentives were given to get to that point. Now if Frank says it was always that way, and the auctioneer always makes money out of it, so be it. I just always assumed it was purely a voluntary bringing together of people for charity. Maybe it is me that is naive and 'voluntary' and 'charitable' mean different things in different cultures.

Pressure is often brought to bear on people for whatever reasons to alter the content of posts, and this pressure is usually transmitted outwith the open area of the forums. It is sad, but true. Politics and all that.

I don't really give a sh!t, but for the sake of a peaceful life I don't really mind altering the tone of my posts. It does at times seem like assumptions I have made about some people's command and understanding of the English language falls a little short of the mark. Perhaps I need to use shorter and simpler sentences. But you live and learn about people every day.Now I understand what other writers have told me about their experiences with some members here.
