Lol,  No problem Ashmire.

I do not believe that I have the authority to delete threads.  The missing link was to a silly article suggesting men have monthlies.  Given the way several people have been attacking each other around here lately, it seemed funny and relevant.  But, I don't have anything invested in it... so if it is gone, by my accident or an admins choice, I could not care less.

Mbassoc..... hmm.  Read your last fifteen posts.  You define yourself with your poor language and repeated attacks on others.  The preponderance of cursing and personal attacks speaks for itself.

I won't be bidding and driving up the price on your rare module missing maps whether you attack me or not!

enough said.

Maybe, having read my previous posts, you just clicked on mt profile, and were either too lazy to read them in context, or didn't understand the nuances of the english language you were reading. Attacks on others in open forum by me, is generally confined to those who troll the forum with no other purpose than to pick a fight, screw it's membership, or justify their eBay frauds. I have no personal grievance with you, except that whernever you seem to appear on the forum, it is to rub others up the wrong way. Whether that's a misplaced sense of humour (which we're all entitled to), or a superiority complex based either on your own perception of how rich you or, or more likely your own fear of inferiority; it is guaranteed to get on peoples' nerves here. You do it a lot.

This is Ashmere's observation of you to a tee. I'm honestly surprised you didn't PM me to tell me that. You are trying to telegraph that you your decision to bid on something I have is based on my previous interactions on the forum, and that I should give note to it because you have the money to spend on things. Your staement is all about you and your money. If it has nothing to do with you and the amount of money you have, and as your statement says, you wouldn't bid anyway, why did you mention it? As Ashmere has stated. You just have to get in there and point out how much money you have and use that to justify why that should give you status here.

I therefore stand by the statement in my last post. You enjoy acting like a dick.

Incorrect, and worth pointing out because a lot of people are confused by this.

You are capable of deleting the last post in a thread, if you wrote it.  If it's the only one post in the thread -- poof, there goes the thread.  This is standard pbpBB behaviour.

Other than that, the only one capable of deleting a thread is Foulfoot -- and he tends not to do that.

Time to bring this thread back around...

I belive that the two issues should be kept seperate from each other, and not tied together:

1) Condition of the module
2) Completeness of the module

The first one is obvious. The condition of the existing items IS important to everyone, and as such, is given a condition-type (good, mint, poor, etc.).

The second one should be held on its own merits. i.e. The module is missing a chit, counter, page of maps, etc.

The whole reason why I am meandering into this quagmire of tongue-lashings and insults is that I would be interested in (even an) an incomplete ultra-rare module, for the opportunity to Frankenstein it later.  :)

Seriously, if I could pay $200 twice for two ultra-rare modules to put together one complete module at $1500, then I've made $1100, AND have a really cool module to boot.

Like that rat-bastard BBarsh posted earler   , I had Frankensteined a 1st-print D&D basic boxed set after I had traded for the 1st print dungeon geomorphs (in near near near near near mint condition btw).

Seriously though, if anyone has pieces and parts of one of the "holy trinity", feel free to PM me with what you have and what you're looking for. Sometimes I enjoy a challange such as this...

I would agree that combining more than one incomplete copy of a rare item together to make a complete "new" copy is perfectly fine, as long as it is represented that way.  It would probably go for a respectable price, possibly even close to an intact original of the same quality.

The key is that it needs to be represented as it really is, a Frankenstein, albeit a hopefully well done Frankenstein.

So, I go back to my original commentary:

I would volunteer that a "rule of thumb" for items that are incomplete would be a valuation of 50% of the going rate for a given grade.

Our adopted "rule of thumb" for SW is 150% so why not 50% for incomplete?

No statistics to back this up, just an educated guess...

Two halves makes a whole.  :)

exactly my point some pages ago, before piptroll failed to impress me on what he could buy, being such a 'true blue collector'.
The mod can be M/NM without the maps, but notes to that affect are needed..

More people here than a few, at least as far as my personal experience goes, have quite a large budget for this stuff. Note: I'm no buyer or seller of this type of thing but seeing what people I know purchase...
