…"

I don't get in until Thursday eve, but would like to meet you and see if could get in a game with you if you are running games later during the Con Liverpuncher?

I am running a Conan (TSR 1985) game off grid Friday afternoon if you have interest in playing in that, or will also be running off grid Vampyre TSR mini game in the bar as a drinking game periodically and Sanctuary boardgame on Sunday morning off grid. Any are welcome from here, and I will be putting up a sign up sheet/ad sheet for these games wherever there may be a posting area.

At this point I won't be running again during the con - but it's possible.  I'm in a game Friday - but the drinking game sounds interesting.  I also don't have anything Sunday morning - and a board game may be the only thing I have time for - as I'm flying out ~2pm.   Anyway, I'm sure there will be time to say hello, during the con if nothing else.   Regards - Nick AKA Liverpuncher

NTX Con attendees,

In addition to my latest book "In Defense of Thuil", I'm printing two digest sized books for the convention for the two games I'm running.  Those signed up to play in my sessions will get a free copy, but I'm printing extra for anyone who wants to purchase a copy.

Please PM me or post here if you're interested in a copy of one or both of them.  I'm trying to get counts before they go to print on 5/25 (or a few days after that)...  I want to make sure I cover all those that are interested in a copy.  I'll print extra of all three books but I'd like to have a general idea before I print them.

Here are the three books:

1)  In Defense of Thuil, standard size, detachable cover, 20 pages, Lucas Pandolfelli art, and Monkey Blood cartography, for OSRIC, TSRS, and 5E.
2)  The Great Minecart Race, digest sized, 16-20 pages (still in edit and layout), Lucas Pandolfelli interior art, Joseph Garcia cover, Monkey Blood cartography, for TSRS and 5E.
3)  Scavenge the Sands, digest sized, 20 pages, Lucas Pandolfelli interior art, Brian Thomas cover, for TSRS and 5E.

Thanks!

Thom

According to an email from Doug and a post on the NTRPG forums, Ernie Gygax has cancelled.

I'm now in need of a new Sunday game... if anybody else wants to play something off grid let me know!  :D

Sadly, yes, due to health reasons Ernie has cancelled.  He doesnt fly and the drive down was going to be tough for him (having driven to Gencon and back twice from Texas, I can attest to the strain it puts on your body and health).

Of note, we have a board in front (between the check-in desk and my sell tables) where people put up notices about games they want to run, it' s a good place to advertise or check for games going on.  I'd love to run another game (and have one in mind) but I'm usually too busy during the con to get more than one game in.

Note that Friday is the last day you can sign up for games online, you can still walk up at the table day of the con and see if there are still any openings.

Bummer.  I am now signed up for the Legendary Adventures game on Sunday morning instead of Ernie's game, but I prefer something D&D or AD&D instead if anybody comes up with something along those lines.  :?

I would be looking for a D&D or AD&D game as well, plus one of my regular (non-Con) group members will also be attending and also is without anything on Sunday. So that would be at least 3 of us for a game, I'm pretty sure we could find a few more and put something together if need be.

I will be running Sanctuary board game (Mayfair games 1982) Sunday morning if anyone has interest in that. It takes up to 5 players and is about 90 mins.

This is likely a question for Mike, but I'll post it instead of PMing as others may have the same question.

From what I understand game sign up is closed down already. Is there a particular reason or rationale why it is closed already? Some of us are still trying to fill our games that may have added them late etc..  thanks! just curious..  :clown:

Cause Doug does it that way......he can chime in if he wants.  It might be along the lines of "because we've always done it that way", but you are free to corner Doug and ask him during the con (I actually don't know why, most cons close their game sign up at some point right before the con).

BTW, we should have no issues taking care of a reasonable amount of walk ups.....about a dozen registrations are hold overs from last year and are not signed up for any games, chances are they aren't coming, there is a dozen open spots right there.

I close the game registration 1 month after it opens... if you can't get your butt signed up in a game in 30 days... what kind of gamer are you :)

I have to print the table signs for all the games, since I print the current players on these signs and it takes me hours and days to get them typed in and printed since I do them all myself... there has to be a cut off with plenty of time for me to get these done.

If you submitted games to be posted right before April 15th and/or after that date... then you need to get on the stick next year.

...Or you can just wait for the poor saps like me and my two sons who are coming to the Con but didn't realize we'd be able to do so until the last minute (i.e. after registration closed).  We'll of course be looking for games with open slots since we are quite late to the party.  Regardless, we are excited to be coming and plan to make the most of the opportunity.  Pick up games, games that didn't fill... we'll take whatever!

Doug and Mike, you guys are the best!  Awesome about answering questions, and you run a fantastic Con.  I can't even imagine attending a Con with thousands of people.  Your Con is pretty much perfect.  Loved the Con in 2012 and can't wait for this one!

There's no reason, even if we are "full up" and you can't get a badge, you can't come to the Marriott that weekend to hang out at the bar, meet some gaming legends, stroll around and see the games being played, check out the vendors, meet a friend or two and get a bite to eat, talk about gaming until the wee hours of the morning, even retire to an empty table in the atrium to play a pick up game of D&D.

I am planning on coming by on Friday to check out the vendor area.  Is there a specific place where they set up?  Hours?

Thanks

Just look for Pacesetter Games and you will be all set.  :D

But seriously, we are all in the main dealer's hall, around the perimeter. The lone exception is Frog God Games who have their own room, but it is easy to find.

Vendor staffing is bit trickier. Most are around their booths during normal business hours (say 8 am to early evening). But its not too hard to find any of us; and we often leave the booths open until late in the evening.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

After Ernie cancelled, I signed up for Steve Willet's Sunday morning game and now he's cancelled!  I am looking for a D&D of AD&D game Sunday morning, maybe 10-4 or 9-4 or something like that.  Any takers? :?:

Doug is running Red Dragon Inn and i may run a DND game Sunday morning to make up for the dearth of Sunday morning games...

I am in for Sunday morning.  I am only there 2 days this year due to my son graduating from high school so I was also a little bummed that there were no D&D nor AD&D games Sunday.  Thanks for offering Mike!
