Well that explains quite a bit. It also answers the question I had the other night while watching TV. I wasn't sure then if the "Doug" I saw being interviewed by Mario Lopez on Entertainment Tonight, was the same Doug I have seen posting around here. Now I am certain it was indeed him. Well, him and his 24 year-old swimsuit model/publicist.

Thanks for the clearing that up.

Nogrod

Yeh Doug lives a bit higher up the food chain than me.  I'm perfectly satisfied with the $100 a bottle Moet Chandon for lunchtime, while he is continually bitching that anything less than $1000 a bottle wine leaves a bad taste in his mouth.

If the bottle of wine is more that $15.00 I don't want to open it, much less drink it !

So you must have me confused with someone else

Frozen Margaritas do not come in corked bottles (at any price).
They come from that big machine sitting on Doug's back porch.

Wine in a box.
It stacks better (important for apocalypse supply rooms).

Yes

No tornadoes in the Bedford area yesterday.

I live in Arlington, and am only about 2 miles from some of the damage, but here... never saw winds higher than 15 and got about 30 sec of tiny hail and about 10 min of heavy rain ... and didn't even have a power blip ... it was relatively quite for all the ruckus everywhere else

So, the Con is still on !

In a slight panic due to the severe weather yesterday I asked Doug if the Machine was OK.  :!:
He assured me that it was fine...
Whew..  dodged that bullet. 8)
Thank goodness...  :D

Yeah, that squall line was a strange one.  We got a couple of inches of rain where I live but the high winds, softball size hail, and tornadoes tracked to the east and west of us.  Pretty freaky watching those semi-truck trailers get sucked up in the air, spun around, and then dumped on those houses.  8O

Something Doug and I knew was a possibility for a few months now...

Rob Kuntz has officially decided he won't be able to attend NTRPG con 2012.

Rob just had too many medical and financial issues, Doug and I did our best to make sure he would be able to show up, but the problems were too much and in the end Rob just didn't feel like traveling to DFW this year (Rob drives so it's quite a long journey from Michigan to here and back).

As you know, the Three Castles Award was thought up by Rob and Doug, and although Rob cannot make it this year to give it away, maybe we can get Michael Curtis (last year's initial award winner) to fill in?

I'll miss having Rob around this year, he is a very funny storyteller and has some great tales of the old days.  We hope he will be able to attend next year.

Man what a bummer. I have never met him, but I wish him the very best of both health and wealth. Wasn't he going to do an adventure writing seminar?

Yes, and we had to cancel that. The one he ran last year was highly praised by those that attended it.  But we will fill in the spot and move on.  Sorry you didn't get to meet him this year, he is quite a character!  Hopefully he can attend next year.

I am with you on hoping he can attend next year. Any chance that someone will pick up and run another adventure writing forum, round table, or panel? That seemed like a fairly unique opportunity.

Regardless, I am still looking very much forward to your con. For such a small event attendance-wise, there sure are a huge number of things I want to do/play while I am there. It looks like I am going to need three clones of me in order to get everything in I want to do.

I'd love to have another Q&A. I've got a few ideas I think would do well, but we'll see what Doug does, he might just move things around and plan more gaming sessions.

And yes, there are things I miss every year I regret. Last year I missed playing in Mythrus Tower and regretted it, that is a ton of fun.

Anyone interested in Wilmark Dynasty items, in the original shrink?  Wondering if I should include these in the auction this year, Doug sure has some interesting items here in the Magic Warehouse. Other items already in the auction include a copy of Bottle City limited edition (signed and numbered), OCE white box, a copy of Insidious (AD&D version), some Pied Piper Publishing goodies, Castle Zagyg signed by Jeff Talanian, DCC #35 Gazetteer boxed set, and a few others.

I'd expect Martin would be interested in them if he hadnt already bought most or all of them recently.  Ryan might be interested since they are in shrink.  Frankly that is the only way to go with Wilmark stuff IMHO.  Keep them in the shrink so you never have to read them.

Bingo.  That stuff can hurt you if left out in the open.

Also looking through DCC stuff, Pied Piper Publishing items, early Dragon mags (#2-#30), early Dungeon mags (#2-#10), and more.  Post your auction want lists here if you are looking for something.

BTW, thanks to Kenzer, Chaosium, and Mr. Spock for con donations so far!  Especially Mr. Spock, those will be great appreciated by attendees!
