JasonZavoda wrote:Whoever is on this next committee will decide, but I think they should take the money up front, and work out how many prints from how many people willing to pay, not from an arbitrary number. But that is up to them, I'll be happy to get another limited print however they want to do it.

Some of the most talented artists are more than within our reach. The EO committee generated a great deal of "goodwill" with the first print. I want to build on that goodwill and actually name the series (creat a brand). Something such as "The Acaeum Artist Spotlight Series." I said it before, if the we can do another print and confirm to those outside our immediate community that we can pull off these types of projects, we could encounter much higher print runs. With that reputation behind us, I think you would find artist coming to us.Jason,I do want the committee to become the official body for the series. I want to protect the goodwill and the reputation that has been created. All we need is for someone here with a history of bad manners to say they are going to do a project and completely botch it up and destroy the goodwill. This in no way stops you or I from starting any project of our own. I just want the series name reserved for the committee's projects.Martin

JasonZavoda wrote:Martin,I think that would be up to Foul. It is his site I believe, started and hosted by him. The guys on the committee are a pretty gracious bunch, and they may be the only ones to be able to get this kind of project off the ground and amazingly enough completed (and after 15 years of seeing and being involved with online projects I can tell you very, very few ever see the light of day, even after being talked up a treat, let alone come out as fantastic as the EO print). But I would rather have a free market approach than the start of an acaeum bureaucracy.

Prufrock wrote:IO,Your response shows that you just don't get it. If it is about the print or the artwork we could just go to the artist website and buy whichever prints we like. This is about a group of people coming together to make something happen in an area that we are passionate about. Art is certainly subjective. I may not like the next artist we spotlight, but I will support this project because my friends and I are making something happen in an industry we care about. Whether I like the artwork created is the last thing on my mind when it comes to this project.Sorry (IO) for the rant. I am passionate about this project.Martin
