I am going really old school. I just bought a Syquest 88! Why you ask?

Ok, here is the scoop. I have a cartridge with a crapload of stuff that I really need to get at. Problem is, and I knew this in advance, is that the Syquest uses a 25 pin SCSI to connect. My G4 (mac) does not have a SCSI slot - they stopped including them a few years earlier. Now I have to find a 25 pin SCSI to USB converter cord. They cost around $50-100 if you can actually find one. The drive only cost me $30!
I am even tossing the idea around of picking up an older power 7500 or 8500 mac just so I can connect and get my documents.
All this because I forgot all those key docs were on a Syquest Cartridge and no disks or a CD. So there is bbarsh's computer nightmare...

The quote in the article I had to read three or four times was this one;

Pitches?  That's a new one to me.  Seven rugby fields?

So, a "giant iceberg" floating about the South Atlantic also seems somewhat doubtful as a great menace...particularly when the scientists who know about it are saying it isn't a great menace.

I kept waiting for the obligatory PC warning about global warming, but it didn't pop out until the next to last paragraph...nice restraint there not leading with it!

It could be a basis for Michael Moore's next fakumentary on global warming....or Oliver Stone's next conspiracy (not!) movie.  
(If this was the 1970's it could have been Irwin Allen's next disaster movie, "Iceberg!"--with the plot line an iceberg headed for the Sydney Harbor Bridge.)

I've always likened pollution/global warming to smoking cigarettes. People only get minor glimpses of the damage being done, so they don't take it seriously until it's too late.

Global Warming/ Cold Fusion/ Flat Earth/ Bigfoot/ UFO's and other products of bad science and wishful thinking.
