OK, not silliest of year ... but makes you think why folk just don't look at all the other sets available for far less. I don't think those are the original dice either ... my box sets have the plain single colour sets

What's the exchange rate between £ and $?

This one has popped up a couple of times, and I keep thinking "have I missed something" - but having had a real good look at the picture and read the auction description closely, the answer would have to be "NO".

This is why selling on ebay without doing any research and setting a reserve price is a fools gamble.

Yep; about double the price of that 2nd print that was in better condition overall, IMO = both expensive and yet still "cheap", relative to previous sets, at the same time.

(Would've had to guess the spines were broken without that obvious taping: 3rd prints are a pain for that just like 1sts and 2nds are for loose/missing pages...).

I had seen them go in the $40-$60 range typically, but I haven't been following them for several months.

It looks in really nice (and clean) condition... So since they've been averaging $40 - $50, it might be a normal bid.

It does look to be in solid condition. I've seen them go for higher (with really good photos showing NM condition).

I'd probably drop $75 for a NM copy if it were higher on my priority list.
