That's blind faith, and frankly silly.I don't take kindly to being called a liar by a cyber bully. Nor did I appreciate my last round of assault from him over the DSR's. But, I appreciate the sentiment that along with the venom from Brian that he does provide a public service to the community by running down a tremendous amout of problems. There are recurring episodes of Brian rooting out what appear to be legitimate issues and airing them in the forum. However, Brian is also a zealot, his method of delivery is rude and abusive and he jumps to conclusions about people and situations based upon his interpretation of the truth. He has done it with me and he has done it to many people here as a summary review of his posts demonstrates. To put it another way, we need the police. But, we don't need them shooting before they know they are talking about.I am not suggesting that what he does is not of value. Just that the way he goes about it compromises it's usefulness to the point that I just don't give a damn. I don't expect to ever be competing with BClarkie for reputation or e-peen on this site or any other. And, odds are good that in a few months to a year or so, I will have collected the vast majority of what I want from d&d and tsr and moved on. That's likely, since I can't imagine why I would stick around and put up with watching Brian post this crap unless I was very actively collecting and found current and immediate value in the information and contacts provided here. As it goes, Brian will likely still be here, abusing people for disagreeing with him and claiming his position as king of the bin's or king of the shill finders, or king of the whatevers...The only way this community will ever moderate Brian's behavior is by addressing it directly, immediately and as cooly as possible. Perhaps, when enough people have come and gone and left even further evidence of Brian's unnecessary attacks in the post history, he will either moderate his personal attacks or be reigned in by the moderators. Until then, we are all forced to either accept his half cocked interpretations of events that we often barely care about... or face these long repetitive point by point out of context attacks and counterattacks that continue long after whatever possible point he was making has been conceded or moderated. So you ask what the point is... If I see a man beat a child in the street, my native inclination is to stop him. If I see a cyber bully abusing others (including me) on the internet, my native inclination is to call attention to it. Brian has good investigative skills coupled with very poor judgement. Each of us get to decide whether he is entertaining, productive, useful or if he is simply too abusive to tolerate. Given a choice, I won't tolerate it, as I don't find him interesting, entertaining or enlightening. Rather, I find him whiny, small minded and judgemental.Oh, and I don't think you are an alt identity and I am sure Brian has his flag bearing advocates on the site. The tone and content of your email suggests nothing of the tone and approach of his. Disagreement is fine, enlightening and part of the learning process. Abusive posts are not.

Center_Stage_Hobbies wrote:The bottom line is yes, I think he can be rude. Yes, I think he is occasionally off-base. But the bottom line is, in spite of the occasional post you think to be off base, he keeps the cheaters and bucket heads in check, and his attention to detail both in regards to collecting AND eBay is often mind-numbingly amazing.
Pipswich wrote:Actually, Brian is just good at convincing people that his version is true. What I said was:"On another note, funny, when I am on the phone with Ebay and Paypal reps on occassion, they pull up my file and tell me that I have fewer problems than average. Since I seem to average a minimum of 50-75 purchases per month (on this account... and my wife has one too)... I must have something in the neighborhood of 10,000 purchases or so on this account since 1997."Then Brian went and found ONE of the accounts that ebay and paypal were discussing in total and insisted over and over that I was lying. I never identified a specific ebay user ID as holding 10,000 transactions. Unless, I am misreading my own post, I didn't even exclude the possibility that online paypal transactions from other venues weren't in the total. It is also presented as an estimate.Believe what you want but Brian has you guys hoodwinked into believing he is logical and truthful, when he is simply rude and abusive toward anyone he doesn't decide he "likes". Basically, he has misquoted me, sleuthed out ONE of my ebay ID's, libeled me and there is not a damn thing I can do about it but accept being called a liar or open ten years of my business records to public inspection because the admins here let him call people liars without proof. It's disgraceful.I am out for a while. I will keep the account so that those of you selling me rare items can continue to reach me, but what a shame that such a wonderful sight allows such a malcontent to chase people away. No wonder you are all complaining there are fewer buyers and sellers. What rational person with the financial ability to buy rares has any reason to put up with this?I made a good faith effort to defend an unwarranted and irrational attack about the dsr's and now about the feedback statement. I can hardly imagine how many people have walked away from this site and the hobby over issues like this one... but for goodness sakes... I guess I should sayTHANK YOU BRIAN - EVERY TIME I BUY SOMETHING IT MUST BE CHEAPER DUE TO THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE RUN AWAY!

It is a reissue, scratched, and available online, so it's not valuable. For those who don't follow extreme music, Graveland is a Polish band whose leader (sole member?) is a neo-Nazi. When I see neo-Nazi CDs, I either buy them and break them in-store or lose them amongst the shelves. This time I decided to keep it and give it a spin because it has a cool swastika on the CD and is dedicated to Timothy McVeigh --- can't get more fun-loving and light-hearted than that!As far as eBay policies go . . .I want to sell it on eBay and add a nice descriptive text on how I bought it used and how sad it is that neo-Nazis must sell their CDs to used bookstores. bbarsh wrote:Time for a short rant...Ok. Loaded up 64 items on ebay last night (a personal record for me). Well, I thought I did. I load through turbolister so I hit the upload all key and went about my business while the process was going. About and hour later I checked the laptop and noticed that instead of all 64 items being uploaded, it actually said only about 42 were successfully added. So I hit the screan and notice 22 items were unable to be uploaded due to an error. WTF. Ok, a few seconds later I track the error and it says that my auctions indicate that accept payment methods outlawed by ebay! Now, I already had my experience with "you can't take checks or money orders because ebay doesn't get its cut" deal. So I checked the rejected auctions to see if I made a mistake and had something in them about taking checks and money orders. NO. NOTHING.In fact, the payment / shipping notes are no different from the auctions that were accepted. Now I am getting pissed. Then I see that I have line that says "Check out my other auctions for ..."Nah, can't be that...Oh yes, it can...So I change the "check" into "see" and bingo they upload. You have got to be kidding me. I had to go into all 22 items and "check" that the word "check" was nowhere in sight. Uploaded again and now seven get rejected for the same F.....g thing! Other than the item name and descriptiion there is no freaking difference from the ones that are up. Not too mention 42 of them still have the word "check" in them. Now I get rid of a line stating that I will mail within five days of payment clearing. I suppose the word "clearing" must be ebay objectionable. Upload again. Finally go through. That took me almost an hour in total to fix...Yeah, ebay sure loves its sellers... A-holes.
Blackmoor wrote:I am confused, are you saying you can't accept checks or money orders anymore on Ebay?Is it only Paypal then?
bclarkie wrote:Oh yes. As of January 15th you are no longer "allowed" to accept any payment forms other Paypal, Propay and one other electronic service whose name elludes me right now.
