Thanks to Badmike for the shout out.  However, I want to make clear that Yaya and AdderMcOne both insisted on helping pay for Frank and Tim's dinner Wednesday night.

I'm really surprised to see so many rubber bands around some of these items. They are one of the banes of the comic and card collecting niche.

Yeah, but they are better than tape.

Plastic bags. You put them in a plastic bag that is tightly around it (you can secure the plastic bag with tape) and the pressure is evenly distributed. Rubber bands always gouge edges.

Somewhat amusing side-story: an acquaintance's apartment burnt down a few years ago.  The only possessions of his to survive the fire?  Multiple copies of Talisman. ;)

Man, I'd have loved to have multiple Talismans being auctioned... if they were the expansions (not the base games -- have all of those.)

Pheew!! Finally made it home yesterday after 30+ hours of travelling time! (Left from NY as I went there for 2 days afterward 8O )

Had an absolutely fantastic time at Gencon guys  :D  :D  :D

Meeting everyone and experiencing the games, auctions and trade hall were all huge.

Gencon showed what an awesome group of people the members here are, and I can now put a lot of faces with names.

I managed to get all the extra items I bought home for about $US25 (which was only charged between Indy and New York) I thought my excess baggage was going to be way over but no-one bothered weighing anything... Thanks to Martin and Mike for helping to post some extra stuff home as well.

Funnily enough one of the first things my darling wife asked when I got home was if I was going again next year  8O  8O (Don't know if she's trying to get rid of me or not  ) - but it's not likely to happen.

Someone was kind enough to give me a copy of a CDR that has auction bits on it from last year.
I can hear it, but not see it. I've tried Windows Player and Real Player to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

If you are trying it on a PC you might not have the required video codec (coder-decoder) installed.

I usually recommend the K-Lite Codec pack available for download from File Hippo.

It was great seeing everyone from last year and meeting the Acaeum members who didn't attended GenCon last year.

Every year, begining last year Devon and I record the auctions starting around 6:00 PM until the auction lets out each night. So plan on getting a new CD next year.

BTW: Tim the auction is audio only.
