I don't like it when I get outbid by one of you reseller guys on something I really wanted, but I figure I couldn't have wanted it all that much if I got outbid (or, maybe Im just much more poor than I thought, or have really crappy appraisal skills...) Why? Because I know a reseller doesn't really care... they just want to buy it, turn around and sell it again and make some money. Me: I want the item... to use it, not to say "ooh, cha-ching!" But, I don't like getting outbid, ever, cause then I have to go on the hunt again. Sniper bastards.

Thats not price fixing nor is it trying to control the market, thats just trying to snag a cheapy deal. Now if Mike had several of these same modules listed in his store at $30+ each and he was consistantly tossing in bid(s) of $25+ every time they came up, it could be viewed in a different light, but even still that really doesn't come anywhere close to justifying the type of "little man hiding behind fake Ebay ID(s)" vigilante tactics either. The guy obviously has some serious mental problems and he seems to get off on trying to antagonize people as long as he can remain anonymous. As soon as he got exposed, he started to cut and run immediately like the gutless turd that he is. People like this guy are bad for everyone, both buyers and sellers alike.
one word of advice for ANYONE who gets grumpy like this getting outbid, is NEVER go to GenCon.

No offense intended.

I have no clue how to track people down using the tools that you do, and I must say, I am mightily impressed. My wife has been reading this thread over my shoulder and has been busting a gut. Thanks to all of you. BC, Bad Mike, and Xaxaxe - I am busting my ass to get to Gen Con this year. Assuming I can get there (my wife has just gotta get a job soon), dinner is on me. I owe you all bigtime for various reasons.

Xaxaxe wrote:Jesus Christ ... relax, Nancy. No one really cares that much. Here's the funny thing: I didn't win any of those recent auctions, either. Why? Because I got ... wait for it ... outbid. That's right, I lost out to other users who were willing to *gasp!* pay more for the items than I was. Unlike you, though, I don't see it as a vast conspiracy led by some sort of vague Reseller Mafia. Since I operate in the real world, I see it for what it is: I got outbid. Simple as. I gotta tell you, all kidding aside ... after looking at your recent bidding history, it's painfully obvious that no one here is actually your problem. Your problem is that you need to jam a crowbar into your wallet if you ever expect to win any auctions on eBay. If you want to keep placing lowball bids on everything, that's your business, but don't come crying here about some delusional reseller conspiracy when you get outbid 19 out of 20 times.+++++And now, I'm done with this nonsense. It's time for me to kick back with some popcorn and see if your story can hold up to the inevitable poking and prodding it will receive Saturday. It should be fun.[ Image ]
The what now?Sorry, I need to look this one up. Anyone know of a good JG reference site?
