When I first saw the trailer with skater-boy Legolas, I cringed. The Hobbit does not need Jackson's imagining of his LoTR movies to be a good story. It stands on its own. I have not seen the second movie yet. It seems to me it is like going to visit the dentist.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Ahhh, brought a smile to my face after watching my Eagles play like trash against a team with 3 wins. Never ceases to amaze me how Cowboys fans (many of them at any rate) insist they have an elite QB when he turns the ball over to lose the game time and time again. Not to mention their horrific Dec/Jan record.

If you can trick your mind into forgetting you ever read Tolkien or The Hobbit you would probably like this film, much like Arnie's "Conan" is a great fantasy flick if you have never actually read a Howard story.

You have been warned....If I tell you the local burger place is serving salmonella burgers and you still go down for a bite, do NOT think I am going to feel sorry for you afterwards! I will instead mock you.

I enjoyed it.

And although it's clearly not a four star movie, calling it akin to a salmonella burger is quite harsh.

And I agree... just put down the book (gently) and enjoy the movie...

I will make the leap of faith that you are a Rangers fan, so you do realize that you need your head checked right? The only franchise with fewer titles since the Nazis marched in to Paris would be the Chicago Cubs. Having said that, Slats is in the Hall of Fame and won 4 titles coaching the Great One. What have the Dolans done other than run multiple franchises in to the ground. The Dolans are wayyyyy ahead of Sather.

Doesn't matter, anyone besides the Seahawks, 49ers, Broncos or Chiefs who are playing now are only doing it for practice for next year. It's been a long time since we've seen teams such a level above the next group of opponents that anyone else in the championship games seem like ludicrous thinking. This is 00's Patriots, 90s Cowboys, 80's Niners, 70's Steelers type domination. Sorry, Saints and Pats fans...those are the two worst 10-4 teams I've ever seen in my life, they ain't going anywhere (I'm sure Stratochamp can come up with a top ten of really bad double-digit win teams.....) :wink:

Eli has been hit and miss but never this bad. He's turned into an interception machine. I'm betting on him helping me to the fantasy football championship as I just picked up the Lions Def for the final fantasy playoff game. Maybe he's been calling Tony Romo up for "pointers"....

Bad news. My father-in-law passed away in his sleep this morning. He had declined in health for the last several months, so his passing was not unexpected. He survived the Battle of the Bulge, and was a couple weeks shy of 91. It's going to be a weird, sad Christmas.

Truth is worth finding and life is too short to work for money.
