Hiya,

arrived safely last night after 22 hours travelling!

Only a minor delay on the way this time - 4 hours stuck at washington because of lightning.

JW Marriott very nice, not as far from convention as it looked on the map.
If youre staying here, ask for a high room as the view is good. Also the concierge lounge actually has a proper gaming table in an alcover (ok, it might be for business meetings

which would be very handy for a game!

I am also apparently helping staff the Cubicle 7 booth on friday!

Here at Gen Con. Just got back from the Acaeum dinner. A somewhat smaller group than prior years, but a good time was had by all.

Before dinner I checked in my paltry number of items to sell at the auction, which had problems with their computer leading to a very long wait. It seemed like a large number of sellers were selling very large numbers of items. It remains to be seen whether this is just quantity or if there will be quality evidenced as well. So far in the rares case is a Jade Hare (no cover, but with mailing envelope), a 10th Anniversary box set and a PotVQ, as well as a few North Texas digest modules. But the auction staff had a long way to go to sift through what was being submitted, and lots of sellers were still in line. Invincible Overlord and I talked to a seller yet to check in who was selling his late father's collection, including a Ghost Tower of Inverness, several R and RPGA modules, a 5th print white box and a bunch of Judges Guild modules and miscellany in very nice condition.

Lots more to come.

Oooh. I'm curious to see how these were mailed out. Could you post a piccie when you get back?

fyi and on the run, have returned to Chicagoland and will be heading for Indy either later today or tomorrow, depending on jet lag.

Like Malc, a 22-hour travel day for us yesterday.
I'm getting a little long in the tooth for such exertions.

I remembered to charge up the camera battery this year. So pictures are being taken and will be posted when I return home.

Another long day today at Gen Con. Started with the dealer hall (the Cheers, Gary books were going as fast as they could put them out), then Tim's game, then on to the auction. It seemed to me that the volume of semi-collectibles was higher than previous years (including several white box sets, moderately rare Judges Guild items and a KoDT number 1 which went for $300). The real collectibles are set to sell tomorrow.

Hiya,

very pleased at the auction last nite.

Picked up Owl & Weasels 1-25, plus some extremely early GW adverts such as games day 1, plus some letters written by Ian Livingstone to a subscriber in the USA.

Also bought the cover art from 4th Ed DMG 2 from one of the artists

That seems like a steal to me.

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games
