I would say its about double.  I didn't think he was going to get any bids.  Figure a number of people still looking for CDM2 but the others hitting $50-$100 are quite a bit higher than I would want to pay - but I think I am a pretty frugal collector.

By frugal, perhaps you mean patient?  :D

I thought some of these might sell, but the prices realized were shocking.

They are in nice shape... and one person obviously wanted the set... but $380!!!  That's what... DOUBLE what these should go for?

I haven't seen these come up for sale in awhile. Collectables can hit a certain point and jump up in rarity as items for sale and not in the hands of collectors. But this was a complete set and it is Christmas. All it takes is two people who really, really want an item and they can push prices beyond any reasonable expectation.

I like video games but don't mind waiting a couple of months to get a copy for a third of the price used rather than HAVING to have it as soon as it is released at full retail.

I know I have not tracked these in quite some time, but...wow...I remember when I sold one for $110 and it was a really big deal!

Interesting pattern of zero feedback bidding. Looks like an attempt to drive up the price towards the end of the auction.

I sold one a couple of months ago for just under $100. That was the 2nd attempt. The first failed to hit the reserve and ended at about $56.

I saw two previous to mine sell for about $75 each.

This is one lucky seller.

I have my doubts that luck had anything to do with that final auction price.

Check out the bidders list on that...it looked like a shilling took place. I'd hope that it wasn't, and that the economic recovery is on its way up, but that's way too high and wishful thinking. I didn't even see the sticker on the set, so it looked like it was just the standard, unsigned version.

lol, I wanted to send him a message but then I figured it wouldn't matter.  People who price crap this way are just not worth the effort.

Maybe, but the last one I recall seeing was six months ago and vanished in a BIN puff of smoke for about $20-25.  So it's not as common as the rest of the TG material.
