Football is a game folks.

If Favre wants to continue playing football, then I say good for him and I really hope he gets to do so and even better if he gets to play in Green Bay.

The fact that he turned down 20 million over ten years NOT to retire tells me he WANTS to play football......

It is not about the money or the records for him.

The only question I have is that Favre may be addicted to the fame and all the superfulous things that go with it.

I don't see Favre as a fame junkie.

He's more of a workaholic who doesn't know when to call it quits.

Not to mention it's become pretty obvious he's really forcing the Packers into trading him to a competitor, possibly the Vikings.

I remember when Jerry Jones was hammered for firing Tom Landry the way he did....when no "perfect" solution was available that would have satisfied fans.  I think Green Bay management is in the same exact position now, with no good way to handle this without it getting ugly.  Whatever they do....pay to keep him retired, allow him to rejoin the team, or trade him to another team...they are going to be unjustifiably beaten up about their decision.

I never understood at the time why Tom Landry deserved any special kid glove treatment getting fired...considering he'd gone 3-13 the year before, and presumably during a lifetime of playing and coaching knew how the system worked.  Likewise I don't understand why Favre thinks he deserves special treatment (all the while protesting he doesn't need to get special treatment) considering he retired in the first place, and then let it sit like that for months and months.  I can't wait to hear the Packer fan boy reaction when Green Bay is forced to trade him to the arch-rival Vikings or Bears for a handful of magic beans......

I know he'll not play for Green Bay, I hope he'll go to the Vikings, but with talk here recently it may not happen.  So looks like Jets or Bucs. The Bears can't afford him, they don't pay QBs anything.
I'm gonna have to hope for some miracle with what ever QB backs up Rodgers, because he will not last long.

I saw where the Bears have benched Rex Grossman in favor of Joe Orton. Hard to believe Sexy Rexy started in a Superbowl a couple years ago.  Is Rex the worst QB to ever play in a superbowl???? I still can't believe how good that defense must have been to carry that dude all the way to the superbowl.

Joe Orton could become a pretty good QB.  I watched him at Purdue and he was great.  Just needs some playing time.  He's got a brain.  That alone makes him a better QB then REX.

One more reason why I dont climb mountains:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26048887/?GT1=43001

The last survivor of the latest K2 disaster made it off the mountain today.  Eleven people died as a result of an avalanche and, according to at least one survivor, poor planning.  :?

Frankly, I would rather blast into space on the end of a rocket than go mountain climbing in the Himalayas.  Better survivability rate I would think.

We've made him an offer to be a baker trainee, but haven't heard back.
Maybe they'll trade him to us for a full season of morning pastries for the team.

Speaking as a native Chicagoan . . . it's nice to see someone else in the division have a quarterback controversy.

Though, to be honest, we don't have quarterback controversies in Chicago.  To do that, we'd have to have a real quarterback.

Just good he's not going to the Vikings, Bears or Buccs.  Now I can root for the Jets against the Pats this year!  :D

Plus I guess Favre deserves an apology...I mean, he wasn't in it for the money if he went to Jets, such a quality organization..... :D  No, just kidding.  But does Bret realize the shark tank he's going to? Love to hear that crowd the first home game he throws three picks...

Probably be something like..

I'm happy for him and hope to catch some Jets games on TV.  Oh and NE is going down! Jets will win the division.
