He says he bought it at a GenCon auction.  Wonder if Frank remembers it.

SUSPECT.
As stated above; Anyone can write stuff in a book and on the top of a box.
Provenance is everything, and I don't see any in that listing.

I acquired this at a Gencon auction.

And that does NOT serve as proof of anything to me.

Plus many of the pictures are VERY blurry.
Blurry enough so that you can read few if any of the

editorial comments

WHY would ANYONE place a listing for a supposedly UNIQUE collectors item that will cost the buyer between $700-2,100 (or more?!) and NOT use good photos?



To me its just another crappy 6th print box set.

Complete yes, but otherwise crappy.

All three books and the reference sheets have some previous owners scribblings on the covers and inside throughout.

The box also has writing and other condition problems too.

If I had need of a crappy 6th print set (Which I dont), then I MIGHT give 40 bucks for it............    more than likely not though.

Install something like CutePDF Writer (it's free).
http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp

You then print the web page and select cutePDF Writer as the printer. Name the file and it creates a PDF.

Easy as that.  

Not sure whether this is interesting or not. I don't think this is the TSR/RPGA belt buckle from 1981, but I'll be darned if it doesn't look familiar. Can anyone identify this? Is it collectible?

Actually it looks like Schick's handwritting. I have some pages of a Top Secret module he wrote and the handwritting on the box looks the same to me.

Note: Schick dumped a large amount of TSR products in the '90s. I picked up 4 orange B3s, Lost Tom McCann and Tournament Ghost Tower as well as a large number of boxed sets. (Should have picked up his manuscript copies of the players handbook and DMs guide too but I was out of cash).

This could be something he sold and was resold at Gencon. I can scan his writing and email it to anyone who needs an example for comparison.

Well unless there were some kind of extensive notes inside it really isn't any different from any other set of the same edition, unless you're into owning something owned by a specific member of the old guard.

I'm sure they are long gone. This was the mid-90s I believe. He must have sold the whole collection for a song. I just wonder what else could have been picked up at the time.
