I like to think I would have been wise enough to know that my potential romance with Raquel Welch...and getting movie roles at all...was based on my football career.

A romance with an actress would have been over as soon as I was no longer a football star.  (Memo to Mark Gastineau as well.)  Ergo...to training camp I go.

It was the same sort of decision that another big-time running back made...choosing marijuana over his NFL career.

I think the decision also had to do with the fact that he didn't want to have two destroyed knees and be in a walker by age 40. I know he spoke of this before.

You didn't just compare Brown to Mark Gastineau did you????????????? 8O

However, in Brown's favor, I doubt he needed training camp. Remember, back in those days, training camp was literally a way for pro ballers to "get in football shape" from an offseason of selling cars, traveling, or drinking beer and playing golf.  I doubt Brown let himself go in his off-season, and the move just seems to be another "cutting off ones nose to spite your face" moves that Modell was famous for...I won't even go into the racial overtones as Modell didn't have  a lot of sensitivity on that front either (IIRC, in the late 60s he let four black players go when they held out in training camp because he refused to pay them as much as their white counterparts..)

Can any team stop Indianapolis?  The answer is NO.  And Indy will just get better as the season rolls along.  Fesup - who took Peyton Manning for their quarterback?

Martin;

I like how they have looked last night, dismantling the over rated Cards...but that defense, ouch. They are 30th in the league in yards allowed.  I understand they need some guys back who are out from injury, but you get a good QB there against them someone is going to torch them for 500 yds. The question is can they outscore the opposition?

Congrats to the Lions, who won their first game in almost two years against the hated (and dismal) Washington Deadskins.  Hopefully they can notch a few more this season.

And being totally honest, I do not think Indy is the best team in the NFL but they are young except for Manning and Freney.  They will get much better as the season goes along and the new WRs, and defensive personel get more playing time.  Getting to the SB is a legitimate goal for this team.

8) My guys had a very good week.

I do not think your bench players would have made enough difference to turn the tables this week.

As an aside... are you aware that you can make changes weeks in advance?
As for my teams; I already have my lineups set for the entire season set up.
Obviously if I make any trades, or drop/adds those lineups could change somewhat.
For the most part I would only have to do a few revisions as the season moves along each week.

Yahoo Sports is very user freindly in that regard.

I have absolutely no idea what I am doing with the teams, players, stats, etc, etc, etc... Although I'm glad I won two games!!  :lol:

I think I'll just try and remember to change the players each week for those who appear to be on form...  :oops:
