which reminds me, i need to PM frank and tim now that i have slept a little....i managed a power-nap (2 hours....which i believe is the norm for doug too )

Al

First, I hate the Lakers....they could be playing Al Queda and I might be rooting for the terrorists...but that was a good game. Better than the horrific Rangers debacle we saw. Absolute worst game I have seen in person in at least 30 years.....bleh. At least the seats were good and Al had a good time.

My grandson thought Al was cool, he kept asking him "Why do you talk funny" (I'd like an answer to that one, myself). But it was a pleasure to have Al stay at my place and it's open again if you want to come back next year. Barring that, the booth babe we hire can hang out at my place (she might need a shower or something, you never know).

Anyway the Texas guys loved having you here and it was great for Doug and John January to finally meet you, as well as all the other convention goers who had heard the legend of Al and Tegel Manor (and got to experience it first hand). Hope we can do it again next year!

While we are on the subject of Al...

Hanging with Al was like getting together with a friend who you haven't seen in years. Talking and gaming with Al was as familiar as any game I have played. Al definately has a way of making a guy feel comfortable and that is an admirable trait.

I can pretty much say that about all the regular Acaeum guys I met - in person - for the first time. I never felt out-of-place or like a third wheel. I think we can really take pride in our community, knowing full well we have met some great people and friends.

I look forward to next year or, for those who are attending Gen Con, later this year.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

BTW thanks for driving the farthest, Bill....(I think the Memphis drive was a bit farther than the Wichita KS drive of TacoJon). It was great to finally meet you and actually game with you in Matt's game.

bill you actually hit on something there.....the acaeum guys i have met, most have been almost as if you have known them forever and gaming with them is just a blast.

thats one of the reasons i come all that way to hang out for a week. its just so cool.

how can you miss something like that?

gaming should be fun. thats always at the top of my priorities - i dont always get it right granted (nobodys perfect) but thats what i always try and do. bill, we need to game again man - i had a hoot, especially in franks first game, where you were getting trigger happy with them 2 wands...that was just plain hilarious

as i said guys, thanks so very much for making me feel so welcome...i truly had the best time.

if anyone here reading this didnt attend, you really need to give it some massive consideration next time - you really dont realise what you missed out on.

BTW a short note: I think Doug will STOP sales on the T-shirts and goodies with the 2009 logo after this weekend....so if you haven't already you really need to scoot over there to cafe press or zazzle and buy up a souvenir. You were warned!!!

I wanted to thank Doug and Mike for letting me listen to the Con and taking the time to have a quick conversation or two via Skype.

Though little could be heard clearly, aside from the second raffle draw, I did hear someone utter, with some insistence, "I don't have resurrection yet!" Also, there was one DM issuing a few good roars that sounded like, "Rawwwwwwww." Both snippets left me grinning.

Doug, Mike, congratulations on a wonderful Con. I'll be there next year.
