Interesting: The page about products lists RPGNow and DriveThruRPG, but does not mention the hard copy book on Lulu.

The Lulu cover does show the WardCo. logo, which is James' company. I never noticed it before, nor did I know about the previous pdf done back in '07 (according to Wikipedia anyway).

If they convince David Trampier to come out of exile and paint the covers, I will officially sh*t a brick and spend $2,000 on these things. :lol:

But there's lots of good artists both old school and new who I'm sure would be honored to do the work. I must agree, no dungeonpunk.

Someone like Parkinson, Beauvais, Otus, Easley or Howe would be good.

But there's some good "new" artists too.

The artist on that one btw is Michael Komarck. It's a reinterpretation of B2's Caves of Chaos.

I'm pretty sure the hardbacks were all $10 when I bought them around 83.

Yeh, we'd have to ask Jim I guess. Jim himself posted the link on his facebook page, so I'm going to assume he's "approved" this lulu printing project. Don't know if this precludes another release by Eldritch? I would assume the release by Eldritch will have a lot more content, the original Meta Alpha was pretty skimpy (for example, the hardback Meta Alpha book that came out a few years ago was pretty big and contained a lot more material, I'm thinking the new Eldritch release will be in that vein).

The MetAlpha.net welcome page indicates a "fifth edition" is in the works - perhaps that's what Eldritch Enterprises is working on? Though IIRC, Mentzer mentioned trying to publish Jim's original Warden. I'm sure the plans have been in flux, which is perhaps why we haven't seen a POD 1E until now.

Parkinson died several years ago, so he's out.

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

Most people wouldn't be buying direct from WotC, and there is no way resellers are going to think to themselves, well if WotC don't want to sell to non-Americans, we'd better respect their wishes.
I'll just buy from eBay, Amazon or NKG like the rest of the buying public.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.
