As Mars mentions, building a full subweb is a big undertaking which takes a lot of time and commitment (as Plaag will attest!). One motivating factor behind its creation was to allow people, who didn't have the time to create a full subweb, to make small contributions as time allowed them.
The great thing about the Wiki is that it is flexible. Any Acaeum member can jump in and work on a favoured project line. So with much less effort than a full subweb, a member can build a great online resource for specific
RPGs. There is really no limit to what you can do. Pages, in addition, to the basic item spec, can have written descriptions and notes on printings etc.
There is quality control in that editing is restricted to Acaeum members (please if anyone spots an error, post in the pinned wiki thread!). There is a discussion tab for each page where members can post notes or questions on items.
The auction tracker allows a simple monioring of prices. We are also planning to have an essays section.
