Just get to the killer breakfast early and you can sit upfront (well, probably behind the VIGs and special guests). After much whining about where we had to sit last year we've been told that seating arrangements should be better this year (esp since it's been moved into the ICC rather than the Westin).

I'll be there early again this year in hopes of dying gloriously! If you need an idea of how it works check out this clip we got of a friend of ours back in 2009.

Got to see that from the stage, the spousal unit couldn't stop laughing so be prepared for some camera shake.

Hi,

i was looking at the Gencon Auction page, and it is described as "volunteer run". No mention of troll and toad this year at all.

Of course, that doesnt mean they arent actually running it again.

That all depends of how flexible you want to be with the definition of 'volunteer' and how closely you want to look at the money. But we don't need to peer too long into that can of worms this year, surely? It is what it is, and regardless, it wouldn't be GenCon without a big blowout auction.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

We gamers have it pretty good. A four day pass to San Diego con (the world's biggest comic convention) jumped $70 from last year ($105 to $175). Gencon is still relatively affordable...heck, by comparison it's a steal!

Wow! Sounds like they are going all out. I see they have a gluten free menu, which would be great for one of the Acaeum dinner guests. Any chance of changing to this local Martin?

You'd find that your Acaeum dinner was an intimate as gathering in the stands at a hockey game. You wouldn't be able to get a table and you'd discover that the Acaeum dinner was as special as a visit to Hooters.

A little late, however, I will give them a call Monday to see if we can get a reservation. If it does not work out this year I will definately make Scotty's Brewpub a priority for next year. Stay Tuned. I will send out email or pm's to those signed up for the dinner.

Looks like I'll be there. I'll have to have my gall bladder out right AFTER the con, but, hey...priorities!

Here's a question: I have a pre-release version of the 3.0 DMG I'd like to put up at the auction. Does anyone know if there'd be any issues with that?

I called Scotty's to try to get a reservation for the Acaeum Annual Dinner but they refused to make reservations and would not guarentee that we would all sit together. Dealing with them was a pain in the ass.

So we will just stay at Rock Bottom for now.
