Midnight tonight, game registration will open up at the NTRPG Con site.  Will you be there in time to get the game you want????  In the past, some games have filled up, and this year we have put the maximum registration number for any game at 8 players....so we suspect some will fill up faster than in year's past.  Tomorrow morning, I'll have a new collectible on sale on the RPG Marketplace to celebrate "Registration Day" (much nicer than celebrating tax day!).

Games open for registration at 00:01 April 15th... that would be tonight at midnight CST

So that's 01:00 on the east coast and 22:00 on the west coast

I'll take the site offline (maintenance mode) and edit all the events to be open for registration (wish it had a simple time/date to enable option for all events, but it don't) Then around 00:01 (as soon as I am done so might be a couple min earlier or later) then you can register for game.

Also, the 2 tickets for the Charity Game on Thursday are going up for auction at the same time at RPGMarketplace.com

Some quick stats:

My B1 B/X game was the first one filled,  in 7 minutes...less a testament to my legendary gaming power and more to the interest in a classic dungeon and playing B/X, I think. I hope this leads to more classic letter modules being run at the con!;

Other games filling up on the first day: Tavis Allison's Metamorphosis Alpha game, Erol Otus's 1E game, and Frank Mentzer's Saturday night game;

This morning, Steve Winter's Gamma World game, Jim Ward's Metamorphosis Alpha game, Harley Stroh's Sunday morning DCC game all filled also;

People online in the chat room in the wee hours during registration were treated to a preview of a limited edition release that will be available at NTRPG con this year (yeh, I know, another one, what can we say);

If you were on REALLY late (or early), you found out about an independent release at the con that is a reprint of a classic module, and I think it will garner great attention, only I think the distributor isn't releasing nearly enough of them to meet demand (should sell out Day One);

A lot of familiar and new faces in the chat!  It was a fun time.

Tournament description : This event is an AD&D Open similar to those run at game conventions such as Gen Con. There are two rounds of play and each round is scored. This is a team event so the scoring reflects total points scored by your team. Points are awarded (or subtracted) based on how each encounter is handled by the players (generally as a whole, but individual point awards are possible). Typically the first round of a tournament includes X number of teams and when the round is complete a percentage of the high scoring teams move on to the final or second round. Since we have limited the first NTX Open to two or three teams, each team will move on to the final round. Team scores will be carried from the first to second round. There will be prizes for first, second and third (if we add a third slot) teams.

History: Storm over Skyreach was originally used as a tournament adventure at Gen Con 22 in 1989. More than 160 players participated in the first round. The final round consisted of five teams. The tournament will be run exactly as it was in 1989. A special, limited edition, NTRPG Convention version will be for sale by Pacesetter Games & Simulations after the final round on Saturday. The NTX version is an exact copy of the 1989 module (with some very minor editing) It will be limited to 50 numbered copies. This version will only be available to those attending the convention. An expanded module, TM2 Storm over Skyreach, will also be available from Pacesetter at the convention and the first print run will be limited to 150 printed copies and will be available at the convention or via on-line sales. The expanded version will include addtional text, more encounters and professionally-drawn maps.

Color Description: Many years ago a powerful and enigmatic wizard attempted to dominate all the lands. His first attempt to sieze power met with failure and the wizard disappeared. Some years later he returned with another army, but this time he was supported by a strange new breed of dragon - the Storm Dragons. Again, a ferocious battle ensued, and the wizard was defeated. This time the victorious army marched on the wizard's keep and destroyed it completely. The wizard's keep was his base of operations for his army, but not his lair. The location of his actual lair was speculated to be near the peak of Mount Skyreach, but no expedition followed. The wizard was gone and people tired of war and he was forgotten.
Now something has stirred the nightmare of those days long past. A storm dragon has been sighted. This is the first sighting since the day before the wizard's army was defeated. Old fears have resurfaced and an expedition to the wizard's rumored lair is now not an option, but a necessity. If the storm dragons are back, surely the wizard cannot be far behind.

I'm beginning to really wish I were going to this. Maybe next year or the year after.

There won't be any of the setting/background material from Spelljammer - only a core of basic rules for starfaring. I ran this scenario at Orccon earlier this year and it went famously. As of this afternoon there are only two seats left open for this game.
