I was surprised that the Otus went for as much as it did ($355). I don't mean to say I don't like the print...I do...very much...GLAD I bought one.
I am new to art and the world of prints, so maybe this is normal.

Actually not surprised, the Otus was a limited print of less than 70 copies made several years ago and nearly every copy is in the hands of a collector (which means they aren't going to sell very often).  We auctioned one at NTRPG con a couple of years ago and that was probably a mistake, as it went for less than this one and had a beautiful frame job.  

I was a little surprised at the Easley going for so much since it was more recent.

Wow! That is exactly the kind of image I had in mind. Something about those images evoke my imagination even more than art depicting combat. Thanks for the image. Who knows...maybe the committee will consider such art as an option.

In the interest of promised transparency, the ACAEUM Limited Edition Art Committee (ALEAC) would now like to disclose important details about this project which were privy only to the committee.  The committee process has its limitations, but it was necessary in order to streamline and expedite decisions.  It has been an honor serving with these gentlemen, and they all contributed significantly to its success.

The committee negotiated with the artist to pay him $800.00, plus he kept the original artwork, plus two digital copies of the art, plus any proofs that were created by the printing company. He agreed to sign and number the prints, and sign the Certificates of Authenticity. He agreed to not sell or number his print copies.  Jeff Easley was a great partner in this endeavor. The printing company we chose was Urban Digital Printers in San Francisco, the same as with the last project.  The art negatives will be destroyed upon completion of this project.

Urban Digital does not do their own shipping, and they highly recommended Norton Shipping who shipped the prints from California to Texas.   Badmike then shipped all the prints which were not picked up at NTX.  I processed most payments and handled most communication.  I wrote the mini-module and Badmike edited it.

Here is our financial report.

EXPENSES:
$800.00 to Jeff Easley
$5,486.00 to Urban Digital Printing Company, San Francisco
$430.86 to Norton Shipping Company for shipping to Texas
$282.27 + $4.21 = $286.48 Paypal fees
$139.18 Tubes (Priority Boxes were free)

TOTAL EXPENSES = $8419.11

INCOME (#of prints times the cost minus the Paypal fees):
No tube @ 4 = 406 - 12.96 = $393.04
Pick-up @ 12 = 1242 - 39.6 = $1202.4
USA @ 36 = 4194 - 132.48 = $4061.52
Canada @ 6 = 795 - 32.82 = $762.18
Europe @ 8 = 1124 - 46.24 = $1077.76
Australia@ 3 = 443 - 18.17 = $424.83
Sold at Show @ 6 = $621.00
TOTAL INCOME = $8542.73

So, doing a little math:

$8542.73 = INCOME
$8419.11 = EXPENSES
$123.62 = REMAINING (will go to the ACAEUM/Foulfoot minus Paypal fees)

The $123.62 leftover funds will be sent to Foulfoot in appreciation to the Acaeum and its support of this project (if my math is correct!).  As you can see, all of the committee members paid for their own print, just like everyone else.

This summary purposely does not include all information regarding this print and the hundreds of decisions or e-mails involved in coordinating this project in the interest of time and space.  We welcome any questions, concerns or opinions.  We may or may not agree with you.
