$135 postage + ?? (reserve I'm going to guess at $400) so approx $5 per book, which isn't bad, I don't think it you would make much out of that if you sold it piece by piece and factor in the time and the ebay costs... but there looks like 100 odd books.. not a bad buy if you are going to keep em..

With other D20 stuff not tracking so well these days, I'd say $225 would be the most you could expect out of this lot. Like a lot of other huge sets, 70% of this is filler that (unless your a completionist) isn't needed, most likely picked up on someones "it's gotta go" clearance since they couldn't sell it at retail. The seller is dreaming big with the $650 BIN in my opinion.

At least some of the contents I recognize as Dragon articles. But that is a damn cool binder!

I am guessing it is completely illegitimate. The one page that might give it some credibility is the GenCon East winner page but it is blank so it looks like it is just a copy and was not even given as a prize.

Also, it contains the reference sheets for another company's RPG called "Once Upon a Time in the West" and "Pirates! miniatures battles" which has a copyright date of 2002.

The value in the item is in the binder itself but unless is can be confirmed as being a GenCon prize probably isn't worth much.

Looks like an interesting lot, but I didn't realize it was ending so soon. I'm definitely curious about the GC East details, if anyone here was the winner!

Yeah, that was me. I will let you know what I find. I wasn't too concerned about it because I have won similar things in tournaments and have actually never had anyone fill out the sheet. Lazy, bad handwriting, etc.

And, as a reminder of how this crap ends up in odd places, I bought a dci/wotc tournament preparation binder at a Catholic thrift store on Thursday for a buck. No idea how it got there.

And, although I don't have huge personal interest in Boot Hill at this point, I did live in OK as a child and may want to play some boot hill with the boys when they are old enough... so at least we have a cool binder, lol.

The contents are just photocopies and bits and pieces from other games so I'm sure none if it originally came with the binder. Its possible that the binder is from GenCon but doubtful - seems like a strange thing for TSR to give away since none of the Boot Hill items were 3 hole punched. Looks more like a personal creation used to store his owners notes etc.

I tend to agree. Certainly, there is a lot of material added from later dates, if the binder is even that old. I won't really know what is photocopied and what was printed until it arrives. Nevertheless, unless there is some three hole punch stuff in there that was specific to the tournament/event there is no reason to assume the binder was the prize. The certificate may be the only item from that event.

But, it's a cool binder, and I could get lucky and find things in there that suggest the binder was part of a prize, or other fun stuff. It's a pig in the poke... but will be fun to look through.

It was more interesting to me than the cash... and ... I might get a surprise, lol.

Yes, the price to take a look is not bad. I do wonder a bit about the construction of the binder? Is it a vinyl binder with the pictures glued on top in some manner - it sort of seems this way to me on the spine side.

I have to agree, Pipswich. The binder and its contents may not be valuable from a collectibility perspective, but from a gaming item perspective its pretty cool.

I like to find someone's old game notes and characters in boxed sets and stuff like that. I think the saddest words in any Ebay RPG listing are "Never Used."

If they were glued on a binder you wouldn't see the button on the side as it would be covered up. I feel confident it is embossed, just wondering how much of it dates to that gen con east.
