For collections like this, the old retail prices most likely. It can also be wishful thinking, but I see it time and again with people who don't know one rpg item from another. They see some items going for more than the old retail price (mostly AD&D) and they just total up the cover prices of their used (and usually abused) non-ad&d rpgs and think that is what they will sell for.

The seller is near Fort Hood (the largest Army base in the U.S.), so this may have been purchased cheaply from someone who was being redeployed.

While not terribly close to any Half-Price Books, the seller is an hour from Austin, so the lot may be composed of Half-Price Books items purchased through a combination of the following:

- books priced at half-cover
- deadstock repriced to be less than half-cover
- clearance priced at $1/$2/$3
- coupons for X-percent off the total purchase

Long-time HPB customers know that this makes low-cost books appear to be a reseller's dream. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't.

What, maybe $200 - $300 worth of stuff if sold separately? How much does a $1500 BIN cost to list? T1-4 and some Planescape stuff as the big (relatively) money items in this lot...

There is just one item in that entire mass of pics that I would be interested in at all, and I already have one.

The Dungeonland Box Set.

But, it is not worth saving the link to that listing.

They are not exactly common, but not very expensive either when you do see them.

To list a BIN auction for 30 days is 35 cents regardless of the starting price but you do pay higher fees if it sells (than open auctions).
