So what's it like across the pond?

Do you not organize conventions as often, or just not have the pool of gamers to do so ?

Friday night we will be treating the special guests to dinner at Texas Land and Cattle Steak House...anyone there is welcome to tag along (but we're not getting your check, you cheap ass bastards!).

I've been called "special" several times...

I am not bringing much but you can bet ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK will be in Texas!

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

You asked about other than Saturday Night.
I wanted to sign up for game sessions at each time slot, but I also wanted to play in too many games too.
So, I had to do a bit of juggling to get to play under my first choices for DMs.

DM: Frank Mentzer
Title: Stoned Again
No. of Players: 4-10
Duration: 4-5 hours
Game/Edition: 1st Edition AD&D
World/Setting: Aquaria
Pregens: Provided Levels 15-18 (or BYO)
Badmike Note: Frank said the last two times he ran this he was rewarded with TPKs….nice! Good luck to the players……!

1st Edition?
TPKs?

Oh yeah.........  I am signed up for that gaming session.

And; If possible,  I would like to play one of the following types of PCs:

Warrior
Thief
Mage
Cleric
Elf
Dwarf
Halfling

IN NO specific Order of preference.
In other words, no one will get into fights with me over Pre-Gen PCs:
I WANT THAT ONE DUDE
NO I CALLED DIBS!

I will play any PC, I am just happy to be in there at all.
Even if only to Add to the Aquaria Boot Hill body count....... 8O

Aneoth, you playing Friday night?

PC does not matter to me either. I am equally proficient in getting deep-sixed with any class. :D

Yes, I am playing in Tim Kask's Game Friday afternoon, while Colton will be in David Rhea's Game.
......

As for deep sixing, I am sorta used to taking risks with PCs.
Though of late the DM I am playing with is more forgiving than some might be.
Even so, one of my PCs (Halfling thief) has been at deaths door several times, and had to be coaxed back with a high level spell scroll at an early stage in his career.
After the other PCs took his mutilated body off the pike he was on that is. 8O
(Halfling on a stick they were calling him)  :?

My PCs, sometimes take Risks that a real person would definately avoid.

I have run PCs that had lower levels of bravery though.
A thief I once played comes to mind.
He was always in the shadows and seldom came up front to fight and then only when forced to.
A Mage once, whose second favorite spell was Expeditous Retreat. 8)
Sleep was his most used spell though and if that one did not work, ER was often his next choice.
Neither of those guys would think twice about allowing other fellow adventurers to hold the fort while they exercised a tactical withdrawal from an overwhealming fight.

The way I see PCs, they are hero's and as such they would (for the most part) take chances that we would never dream of taking.
As long as there is some sort of fantasy payoff in it.
Profit (perhaps revenge) for Thief types, Magic, and perhaps power, and even fame for Mage types, Holy relevance for Priest types (And perhaps power too), glory, fame, and treasure for warriors.

Paladins of course might be different, though glory might be relevent to them as well.
As is the pursuit of holy goals.
Revenge can be a gaming factor for any class of PC too.

But of course taking risks does not always mean taking bad or stupid chances.

In another week or so I'll post all the members of every game....I want everyone to get a chance to finish signinup first.

But Frank's Friday night game:

Frank's Game (Friday): Andrew Z;  Joey Kilianski; Jonathan Abel; Jason Zavoda; Bill Barsh

Joey is my godson, he'll probably come in full A&M Aggie regalia (he's going to med school there).

OK Bruce Lee...

I may have a higher level MU from waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy back. I will have to do some digging. Otherwise, it will be pregen for me as I know for a fact I don't have a character that high level. In fact, I think th MU might be a bit short 13 +/-.
