Sometimes I think you are a bit too paranoid about sellers motives.
The guy did not know what he had, he got them at an estate sale.
Once he was informed of the values of the two box sets and what should go with which box set, he seperated the two and took new seperate pictures.

We as a group helped him out in that regard.

No scams there.
Just a lack of knowledge.
Sometimes there is no conspiracy.....

He said it was a second copy, he used the same pics as it was in such similar condition.  I recommended he post a photo of the actual item for sale.

Do those Mail Order Hobby Shop catalogs have much value?  I have a few from that era - I don't think I've ever watched an auction for one, and it never occured to me to post in the Appraisal Forum... maybe I should?
