It's so headshakingly silly that it would have to be some strange logic that would make then NOT want to print the difference...

The decision has already been made.  The idea to extend the print run has been considered, and rejected.  What don't you get about that?

Why does it matter how many prints there are? Erol retains permission to do as he wishes with the work. Can he not just sell prints of it at his own leisure?

Those who can, don't. Those who should not, do.

Is It? There's a lot of time between now and when the money changes hands and even when EO start his work on the piece...

I've seen more stubborn folk come to their senses.

Even if only 10 more are reconsidered, and I still miss the new cutoff, this discourse will still have been worth it to me.

I'm assuming he will respect the wishes of the commissioners by not doing that. As much as I wish there was another way to get one. It's not the "getting one" that I'm so interested in. It's the being a part of something so special...

I believe Mike's made it clear to you, but feel free reread the thread at your leisure.  Personally, I wouldn't change my mind as a matter of principle at this point.  You've had your say, they didn't agree.  Repeating your request ad naseum is rather disrespectful of their efforts.

Just how much money would you put up front, at $50 a print?  The committee hasn't taken any funds yet.  They decided they'd risk $2500 on this project.  That's the committee's decision and we should all respect it.

Yep.
Just be sure not to let any stretch of 2-3 days pass without checking into the forum.
That was the time frame for getting on the Elite 50 list for the EO print.

I might. But I know EO is most special to me... I would really like to see the right thing done here.

The risk decreases with more involved. And I do plan to do something similar to this in the future...

Not changing your mind out of spite is a pretty lame thing dude. We're just having a healthy debate... and it will go on and on and on as most forum debates do as slightly new ideas and opinions on the same basic theme are presented.

This has all been in relatively good humor and I certainly am not offended by decenting opinion... neither are the commission, as they have previously stated.

Debate is healthy and fun... they even have clubs for this sorta thing. How is this public forum any different?  :P

Not out of spite, because of disrespect.  I'd definitely never run a game with players sharing your attitude.  You should really do some reflection on that.  You can't seem to take "no" for an answer.  There's no debate to be had.

This is a FORUM... this is precisely the point. And we were asked to discuss this. I'm just enjoying the discussion. I'm not telling the naysayers to stop debating their points...

I don't think this has anything to do with disrespect. If the committee came on here and made an official declaration to stop discussing this then maybe I would agree with you... they said quite the opposite.

Look we are all just working this out... maybe in vain and in our own heads but it is still a healthy discussion and an enjoyable one at that.

The effects of this discussion on one's feelings are directly related to one's participation.

I see, the ol' "this is a forum" line to justify whatever nonsense you'd care to type.  That one's a classic, but this thread has nothing to do with discussion.  You're trying to gain support for your own opinion, because you can't handle not being in charge.

They did.  The committee has made it quite clear that the number of prints will be 50, so there's nothing left to discuss.  "Hey, that committee made a bad decision."  "Wow, what a great decision".  "Hey, did you hear they made a decision?"

History lesson:  Some people already suggested an increase.  That suggestion was rejected.  Suggesting it again is extremely rude.

You want to run the show, go ahead and start your own project.  Let us know when you've got that working.  But quit trying to harass and influence the existing project, because the decisions aren't yours to make.

Yeah, I'm a jerk.  It's completely unreasonable that I get steamed when asshats like you go out of your way to spoil a good project that four of my friends are working on very hard week after week.

It's a bit ironic that you seem to be able to respond to my posts instantaneously, but couldn't get on the list, though.

I think the number should be upped. Is there a significant reductiion in collectibility between 50 and 75 or even 100? I joined the usergroup thinking that put me on the list and didn't log in and check PMs until today.

I've never called anybody an asshat... or jerk and I understand your frustration but you can remain civil when engaging me as I have you everybody else.

That being said... I take none of the hard work away from your friends that are working on this project... I am only working to get them to reconsider one small aspect of their work. The final print quantity... Discussions abound that is the title of this thread and the "hot topic" of the week.

For your information I was busy tending to a sick infant around a crazy work schedule at the time this was originally proposed. If it had never been presented originally as a community project (with loose parameters) at the time I wouldn't be trying to make my case as such... all being considered I am acting.
