Wait six weeks to pay the Coug and see what kind of S-storm hits you....he definitely doesn't practice what he preaches. And it's nice you found a new "buddy" with the Coug, but rest assured, if he wants to screw you over at any time he will, and you sound like the perfect patsy...next time he makes you wait that long to pay or ship, remember you can only file non-paying bidder reports within 45 days, and also realize he can charge back a paypal payment whenever he feels like it (saying the items never arrived is a Coug Classic). You sound like you might be an ok guy, but rest assured you are going to be treated as chum if the Coug shark decides to chew you up....giving him the benefit of the doubt is like offering your throat, slathered with BBQ sauce, to a hungry and deranged pit bull.

He did it the old-fashioned way, too: he EARNED it.

You brought up statistics, so I'll throw out two fairly obvious observations:

1. One "successful" deal with Cougie ... too small of a sample size to draw any conclusions. As BadMike warned, it's not a good idea to let your guard down with people who are habitual liars and thieves.

2. One successful deal via eBay's mail system ... too small of a sample size to prove much of anything. Get back to me when you've sent out 100 unsolicited emails and had about 10 responses, seven of which called you unprintable names for sending out spam.

"Ethically," I really couldn't care less; it barely registers on the scale of things either ethical or unethical. But I say again: it's an extremely ineffective use of time.

1. Well since I only had one transaction with him that was all I had to judge him on. Simply giving my two cents of my dealings with him so far. I didn't realize that I could only speak if agree with you all.

2. I have actually now had 5 successful deals using the eBay mail system. I will not even be sending out 100 emails total so I won't be able to comply with your request. Nobody has called me any names either. Perhaps you were not being as selective as am when sending out the emails or wording your emails properly. eBay is a system were people want to buy so I seriously doubt that people are ever going to get too mad for being directed to items that they not only want but have thus far been able to win in auctions.

I never said I was doing it to kill time. I am just selling off what I have. It is hardly killing time though. Not sure how or why I sound like a patsy. I guess if someone that is courteous or willing to work with people they qualify as a patsy to you. I am not an idiot. If someone screws me over I will be the first one to step up and say so. I simply said that I did not have problems in my ONE deal with him. If he buys something from me in the future and then screws me over I will not deal with him again...simple as that. I would do that with anyone though. I was watching and reading everything here while I was dealing with him in emails and I actually expected him to turn around and try and screw me solely based on what I was reading over here. He didn't so I felt he deserved a thumbs up from me on the transaction. Yeah it took us six weeks to finish but I have also had a few other people take close to a month to complete transactions with me so that they could ship everything to togather and save shipping. I have no problem doing things like that especially if they are continuing to buy things from me during that time. Most have offered to pay me on the items they have won and had me just hold there stuff until they were done bidding. I cannot remember for sure but I think cougarind offered to that as well.
