I agree that the auction staff did a great job. Just a shame that the % of no-sales went up that much.

Congrats to the seller of the 1st print woodgrain(a member here if he wants to chime in). I was worried if the reserve would be hit but it went for several grand more. :D

We don’t have minimum bids on the forms from the seller. We do have the reserve but it is up to the auctioneer to start at a lower number to try to “grow” the bids to meet the reserve. We could start at $1 but that takes too long when the iceberg of volume bears down on our vessel. I also stated that the slabbed items had reserves. We do address reserves per item unless it is a batch. If I missed a couple it was not intentional.

The slabbed items had reserves of $300. I was routinely starting them at $50, the average layman cost of slabbing and shipping. Many received no bids. I had a few that hit $100-120 but then stalled out.

We had some, imho, ambitious reserves on Friday. We also had several that were, again in my opinion, very low. We sold several shrink wrapped modules for twice what their reserve was.

Original manuscripts, rare Magic cards, playtest and early adventures from Pagan Publishing. Items in shrink. Tons of box sets including some early TSR with sealed dice/crayon sets. The original art arrived and it is beautiful. We have a Brimstone.

I was busy with intake but will have a chance for a better audit tomorrow.

It is going to be a great Collectibles auction.

The Clyde Caldwell pencil drawing sounded like it was listed as a character commission, but I think it was Clyde's prelim drawing for the girl in the upper right background of his montage cover painting for the Gazetteer set "Dawn of Emperors". Someone got that for a bargain!

I havent found a youtube video from the auction. There was some interesting bidding on a sealed white box set last year, or the year before maybe? Any word of a recording coming? :)

I was looking around for something too then just ran across that one today on youtube that had the pan shot across the glass case and some of the auction.

The Parkinson is from his Guardians CCG. It's the original art for the Super Model card.

Indeed! I just sold my Brimstone for $1900.00 plus shipping on RPG Marketplace, and based on interest, I'm pretty sure it could have sold for more. It's a great adventure, and mine was in near mint condition with the COA. :)

Yes, you are probably right, it likely could have sold for more, but that was a nice sale price.

There will be one at the Gamehole auction, so we might have a chance to see the auction sale potential there.

I've sold a dozen or more items on this group and been pleased overall. The best part is that I get to keep a much higher percentage of the sales price. I can print discounted shipping labels through PayPal just like I do with eBay. :)

Just saw a post from Tracy Hickman that while he won’t be attending GenCon this year the auction there will be selling of the majority of his game collection (all with signed certificates of authenticity) so anyone who is attending might want to check out the auction there. Figured some of you might be at GenCon and might be fans of Hickman’s.
