I have some of the Expeditious Retreat Press Advanced Adventures (for OSRIC). Production-wise, they are pretty good (not top shelf, but certainly better than average). They are generally fairly short, at 12 pages or so. Content-wise, the quality varies, since they are written by a number of different authors.

For play/inspiration, I like these:
AA#1 The Pod-Caverns of the Sinister Shroom
AA#2 The Red Mausoleum
AA#3 The Curse of the Witch Head
AA#26 The Witch Mounds
AA#28 Redtooth Ridge

I picked up this because it looked promising, but I haven't read it yet:

I've heard great things about this:
AA#13 White Dragon Run

All the Advanced Adventure modules by (the late) Alphonso Warden are a kind of love-em-or-hate-em thing. He wrote six or seven of them, I think. I owned one of them (AA#4 The Prison of Meneptah), and enjoyed reading it, but never saw myself running it, so I sold it.

The hardcover Advanced Adventure compilations are a pretty good value.

Malevolent & Benign (XRP's monster book for OSRIC) was okay, but I didn't end up using it after two years of owning it, so I sold that too.

Wow, did Alphonso pass away or something? What happened? It seems like he was posting not long ago on DF and some forums. I like his 'People of the Pit' adventure

If this is truly the same person, it saddens me that a writer in our industry has passed on without anyone really knowing.  :-(

Perhaps we should have a 'in Memoriam' thread that lists those that have passed and their contributions to the industry.  Maybe something like this exists somewhere already and I just don't know it.
