Agreed, but I hate them both.  

The cold, icy weather does historically have an interesting side effect;  eBay gets more attention.  Here's hoping the electricity stays on or that whole theory won't hold.

Yeah what is the deal with these "rolling blackouts" we're supposed to expect? They talk about it like it's something they've predetermined to do. My son was sent home early from school yesterday, & we're hundreds of miles away from the stadium. It's not like we've never experienced a brief cold spell before.

However there's an interesting possibility to "cranking it up over here." If we all turn on every electrical item we own at some predetermined time, during say, the middle of the 3rd quarter, we could blackout the Superbowl in the greatest show of rowdy disruptive fan behavior ever.

I imagine such an event would result in high-consumption equipment (like the stadium lights) going dim while high-priority machines (like the cameras) would continue to transmit on backup power. Similar backup power to emergency lights in the stadium corridors would give off just enough light to provide the national audience a shadowy glimpse of the building chaos.

Well.. back on the air (mostly) still no power or internet or phone at home but I'm back at work (cleaning up and working if you can belive it) 53% of cairns still has no power. My parents place in Innisfail has fared well (guttering blew off on house or 2 I think) so it has turned uot much better for us than it was looking like it was going to be.. thank god.. Still haven't seen any pics yet but I here a couple of places like Tully and Cardwell have been hit hard.. no loss of life reported yet, prob be back to normal for me by monday I expect..

Good news!  You see, many people underestimate just how powerful an influence a big D&D collection is.  Considering yours Brette, I would imagine that most everying within a radius of 100', at least, will be almost immune to damage from natural disasters (and from psionic attack as well ).
