Quite a few of the visible double snipes in auction histories are from those of us who splash out on their bank-busting $6/year fee for additional fault-tolerant sniping rather than relying on the otherwise free service.

Never used a snipe program but have had 100% success sniping with bidnip.com. IMO, sniping should be a backup tool. On must have items I always at least place a bid then only rely on snipes after the fact. Seems to be working well.

I just try to remember to return to the auction before it ends. Given my poor memory & organizational skills, I've saved hundreds (maybe THOUSANDS!) of dollars on items I shouldn't be wasting money on anyway using this one weird trick!

No plan is foolproof when working to a limited budget.

Bumping up the auction price can also dissuade others from bidding, of course, but if you're not around at the end of auction to manually snipe (a bit of a pain for those of us in awkward timezones) it's still good to have that automatic "backup". Presuming eBay doesn't through a wobbly, that is, which thankfully happens relatively infrequently nowadays; certainly from my recent experience with Gixen (failure rate <0.5% at a guess).

Similar to another thread on here, I was looking at Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea items on Ebay and ran across this one :

I thought the picture was one from North Wind Adventures web site ( Product Page --HYPERBOREA ), but somehow, for the auction, it gained a distinct Noble Knight Games water mark ;-)

They did, at least, give the manufacturers name in the auction as well as the product line.

This one has been listed for a while now. I emailed them and asked about the actual item number sometime back. #1 is shown in the picture. They did confess they had a different number and that wasn't the actual one for sale. I wondered about the picture.

I searched for the email to check the number but I must have already deleted it.

Just heard a numbers station on world-band radio at about 9.50Mhz. These are reputed to be espionage transmissions; this one consisted of repeated electronic tones & a woman's voice saying numbers in Spanish. Here's a page on the phenomenon: Numbers Stations

i can get the site up but can't login. mobile app working ok so far. haven't tried to use turbolister yet. luckily i don't have anything ending today auction wise.

i think this is the 12th time ebay has went down this year. but what can we do? where can a seller go and have access to 1000's of potential buyers? nowhere and it sucks

probably got hacked again. lol

Its been down for me most of the day. I would type in --> www . ebay . com and it would redirect to https://signin.ebay.com and time out. Started working again about 45 minutes ago.

What would you do? A buyer from SÃ£o Paulo Brazil bought a book from me today on ebay. Paid immediately, $11.25 for the book and $31.85 for shipping (as calculated by ebay - I always refund shipping overpayment, which this surely is). I have read a lot of warnings on this site about shipping to Brazil. This buyer has zero feedback, having just joined ebay yesterday. I have never had a problem with a buyer claiming an item was not received, and have sold to more than one zero feedback buyer. This is a small purchase. Just feel a bit hesitant. But having never initiated a cancellation, not sure if it would hurt me. I do not have any countries blocked. Advice?
