Thanks. The loss sucks, but this is the most enthusiasm for soccer I think I've ever seen here.  There was a lot in 1999 when the USA women won the Cup vs. China, but I think this year got more attention.

1 Hamilton and Button and at the top of the Grand Prix rankings,
2 At Old Trafford, England are slowly throttling the Aussies (and who doesn't love seeing Ricky Ponting lose)
3 (and this is the most important one) - we did better than France

Still a few games left.  And the quarter finals are when it gets really good.  I would still check out a few games. But I know, when the team you are rooting for is out - it is a lot less gripping.

It's a good sport, but can't be taken seriously until instant replays review at least goal shots for accuracy.  This sport is being officiated by corrupt and disgruntled political malcontents who are so self righteous they do not remedy or apologize for their errors.  

Why on earth would I want to watch some smuck deny goals to their least favored nation/teams simply because they can smirk and get away with it.  The Olympics provided a more even playing field when the west fielded amateurs and the Soviets and much of the east fielded pros.

And ties!  What kind of sport ends in so many ties.  Someone needs to win a game for it to end.

The Brazil Chile & Spain Portgual matches should be technically very good. Netherlands Japan should be interesting as the Japanese team have been very industrious and also good skilfully. They shouldn't be underestimated, but I expect it to be Brazil Netherlands in the 1/4 finals.
