I wont presume you mean that literally, but I have heard it and read it several times on different subs and. I dont assume you, or anyone, would actually want to see one. I always take it metaphorically.

However, we could not, would not, can not and wont have anything of the kind for a dozen rational, practical and logistical reasons. I think we have come about as far as possible with the "summer of love" and January 6th.  Which is to say, 120k people at a rally where several hundred people lost their damn minds and some cities, many dont care about, being all West-Coast-like.

Ill only cite one of the weakest reasons why. A fraction less than 120k, plus summer of love folks, divided by the 330 million in the US would care to participate; because things are incredibly good compared to all of human history, and compared to the reality for most of humanity now.

The Lewis Carroll type images of pristine Target-Shopping mini vans, pick-up trucks, Scooby-Do Vans/Van-living folks carting people around (lord knows the average person isnt marching more than 20 minutes after dinner) to where, to do what, stopping at gas stations along the way for snacks, would make the rest of the nation laugh itself into a coma. Is everyone getting hotels along the way? Sleeping outside is horrid regardless of weather. Literally 99.7% of us are too old, too young, dont care or would rather be at work on Monday. We got bills to pay, kids to feed, football season is starting and if someone feels as strongly as some do, they move. They move to Texas or the North Carolina or Florida. No one seems to be moving to CA or NY for some reason - odd.

Recall the tax rates of the late 60s (25%-70%, its half that now), the inflation, unemployment, interest rates, poverty, even the condition of Time Square in the 70s for goodness sake. Escape from New York was a movie. Remember Robo Cop? We all thought it was going that way. It just continued to get better.

The market could crash 50% next week, Biden could admit he was in on the deals with his son, but wasnt leaving office, and things would still be fine.

From 10 mins to 12 mins, this was considered a reformer.

True, but you're talking about Americans themselves. Rebellions are not always authentically home-grown, but are sometimes created and financed by hostile foreign powers. In Syria, it has been claimed that workplaces were destroyed by arson in the early stages of the the civil war there, in order to remove ordinary people from the routine of their daily lives. What would it take here to accomplish the same?

I really have to include smiley faces. :)

I have a neighbor, great guy, 100% certain "they" will be coming to take his guns. We have talked. He remembers the Brady bill expiring, remembers the gun buy backs, when only 9 or 10 states had conceal and carry instead of most all of them (forget open carry, that wasn't a thing) remembers when it was illegal to own a handgun in most major cities and on and on...but he feels like he has almost lost his second amendment rights, any day now. Many, on both sides of many issues, genuinely have massive concerns in the face of history, current events and their own experience. Its not healthy.

And Ill admit, I know I sound like a nut to folks when I say things are better now. I get it. :) But they are better, we arent going to have a civil war and no one is going to take away guns. *runs out of the room*

Something more than the riots of the 60s and 70s? Because overall we are more wealthy, safe and overweight? :)

I cant recall a post I didnt write with a smile. Apologies if I sounded "Grrr" like or anything at any point.

NY sucks.  If there was ever a need for a Boston Tea Party type of action, it would be this state.  Talk about taxation without representation and the pillaging of the people by state/local government is insane.  As soon as the kids are done school (2 years) we are out of this shit hole.

Folks on CBNC have defended NYC for years as the subject comes up, but they have changed their tone in the last year or so. They mentioned the Walgreens outside their window in time square is closed now, and apparently bike lanes are driving people mad?

I used to take the family into the city to see shows (Christmas spectacular with the Rockettes was a favorite), the Met, the museums, Statue of Liberty.  It really was an amazing place.  I wouldn't be caught dead down there now.  The lawlessness, migrant issues and homeless/drugs/zombie encampments is just too much.  The city is dying and the decay is ignored by ALL media outlets.  When was the last time the NY Times ran a critical piece on how the city government has failed its people? Yellow journalism is rampant where writers spew their views not the facts.  America has lost her way and she needs to get back to some form of sanity.  It was mentioned before about civil war...you won't see North vs South type of conflict, but it is there.  You see it in the schools with parents, you see it with people pushing back against the lockdowns, mandatory shots and other government over reach. Hell, you even see it with company boycotts (Bud Light anyone?).  Government IS necessary, it is there to protect people and keep us safe.  It is NOT there to keep a boot on your throat until you submit.

Oh! Yea, large cities dying  and suburbs growing larger, and in number, is the way of the future. Its one of those things the movies always get wrong. Like in Back to the Future, flying cars, hoverboards but you still have payphones. We always pictured mega cities and all that goes with it, save for the fact of every stat that comes with wealthier nations for the last 200 years. Higher educated, fewer kids, larger living spaces in lower population densities, increased mobility, etc etc etc...It all points to less people living in cities because we can. Work from home is nitro in the tank btw.

You would think that gun deaths happen most often in NY the way they complain, but it appears to be worse in the deep south and wild west.   :?

2/3 of "gun deaths" or "deaths by gun violence" are self inflicted. Keeping that in mind, I am sure the map would look somewhat similar by state, but not by city. Which is what matters, where people live and work. There would be little difference between St. Louis, Baltimore and Detroit, but a massive difference between St. Louis and some suburb 40 minutes away. Many major cities have the same approach to policies.

Comparing the map above to the suicide rates below,
Stats of the State - Suicide Mortality
there is a correlation with the western states (those with high gun violence also have high suicide rates), but not in the south (states with high gun violence have low suicide rates). California & New York have low gun violence & low suicide rates, so let's all move there.

Both murder and suicide are bad to those who have lost someone.   :ncool:

Of course, but they are very different things. They are commonly conflated in maps and in some peoples minds. I live in one of those "higher than California" states. One person, who I love, quoted this sort of thing to me while standing in bean field. Implying we live an area less safe than Detroit. Its not reality.

I am not saying you had any intent, but some adults explain this stuff to kids out of ignorance or, in one case I think, with an agenda. They are successful in deceiving when folks in towns with zero murders in three years think they have a crime problem.

I was just trying to make the point that NY is actually safer than most people realize which is what was also somewhat communicated here:

Oh, yea. Tolerances are all over the place. Its also easy to encapsulate every place, thing and sometimes person, into a cartoon.

Of course, I cant hear my neighbors surface planer running from his garage. Anything less sound proof would cause a sign to go up in my yard. Which makes my perspective a cartoon to some I am sure.
