For all the criticisms leveled against AI, D&D seems like the most appropriate place. Many of the NPCs & monsters are non-human intelligences which resemble humans in some ways, but not in other ways, & in certain aspects are possibly demonic.

I think he drew the giant then used AI to create the final product or the other way around.
Many once used Windows Paint, then Photoshop and now this. Have we not all tried to copy or draw something we have seen, written something we have read into our own styles. AI will be used as inspiration in all facets, with a human fixing or altering it for use. Not shocked by this and it will be something in society that will be labeled like: oil paint on canvas, Photoshop, AI generated, what ever in the future, etc.

A hundred is generous. I've tried not to delete posts I've made, even the ones that make me really cringe years later. Some of my "hot takes" on current issues, or the future of the hobby...did not age well LOL. A few are prescient, but even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in awhile!

Lol. WTF are you doing with 100 copies of those? You could try giving them away at cons’. I don’t even think anyone has bothered making PDFs of those.

It's definitely underappreciated. So much SF-RPG material is dry as a bone, making the whole genre get a bad rap. The JG Traveller books tend to contain engagingly written flavor text, & have striking illustrations in brilliant colors.

Actually, probably have upwards of 800 copies of those three. Bought over 200 boxes of various JG from a dealer about a decade ago. I've actually whittled it down to less than 1000 copies of most of the JG Traveller stuff. I sell them a buck apiece at cons and yes, I give a lot of them away...

I'm sure it is fondly remembered by the die hard SF gamers of yesteryear. I never played Traveller back in the day, so there is no nostalgic pull towards the stuff I never got the chance to buy or read back then in that genre (I started off buying cheap JG stuff on eBay. Here in the UK JG never had much of a foothold back in the day.) I think modern day SF gamers don't have the same need to 'explore' the old sckool stuff the way modern fantasy role players do. There are plenty of modern SciFi game sets out there, and some seem to be pretty successful, but the roots back to Traveller etc. is not apreciated or maybe not even acknowledged by their gamers.

Fortunately, no; we lived in Honolulu.  Terrible situation for those in Lahaina however.
