Actually, I told every Special Guest they were NOT required to run ANY games at all if they didn't want to...

I want people to run games if they want to run games, and if they want to play, then I want them to play.

The point is for this to be fun for everyone.

Considering the stellar lineup of folks running games, I'll back off this much:

If one of my events gets only 3 signups, I'll skip it and play something. ;>

But I get out rarely enough that most folks want me to DM for them, so I filled the roster.

btw I've run the first three at other small cons during the last 2 years; they've all been well-received.

Warning: "Stoned Again" (which has nothing to do with drugs) has resulted in a TPK the last two outings. In my campaign, tho, it went reasonably well. ::shrug:: Depends on the players I guess.

In the past 35 plus years of you DMing games; has that ever happened?

Of course.

A small percentage of con attendees play old school. Most are 3.5 (active rebellion vs 4e out there). I'm often Mr Old School when I show up with my 1e & BECMI.

I enjoy the vacant slots when they underbook; gives me time to wander about. Never seem to actually play anything tho... :/

Thanks Frank.  Well, this isn't going to be like the "other" cons....!  The question won't be "Old school or not", it'll be "WHICH old school?"  (or "how old school can you go?").

BTW, if you can't make it to the con, the next best thing to being there is winning stuff. We've been gifted a large amount of goodies to give away, some of which will be available even if you don't attend. These prizes include a Dragon #1, Jason Braun character sketches, and Paul Jaquay's copy of Heroes of Tomorrow among others.  If you are there we have lots more including minis from Otherworld and Centerstage Miniatures, Reaper Mini gift certificates, Strategic Review 1-7, copies of the special NTRPG version of the Goodman games module, and more.  Below is the page with the raffle ticket link; after you purchase through paypal, you will be given the number(s) of your tickets, and will be able to watch the raffles live if we can get the camera feed to work!

Cost per ticket is only $5 each!

Mike,

Your arm twisting has resulted in 2 more tickets being purchased.  I now have 4 tickets.  Should I win anything in the raffle remembe to pull two tickets out of the hat for me as I always overpay for what I get.

Mike,

right here we go:

Name: Flight from Tegel Manor

No Of Players: 6

Level: high - 10+

Type of Game: kinda 1E AD&D with a few things thrown in

Following the events of Return to Tegel Manor, where the adventure saw the devastation of the lands surrounding Tegel and its Manor, and the forces behind it. The final climatic battle, which saw the party fragment and almost disastrously end, they defeated the demon, Aranael and destroyed the Orb of Power.

However....

Once defeated, the Gateway Portal was still there, so it was not Aranael controlling it! was this indeed the actual threat and was it the Orb of Power that you destroyed? The power taking the essence of the land from it, was still being felt, so something felt seriously wrong....and it would only be a matter of time before you all died and your land with it!

Do you allow this to happen or do you take the portal and follow where it leads?

remember now though, you all now know what happened in that last combat. who do you trust? can you continue? are there still uncovered truths still to unveil? the only way to know is to continue the adventure........

Al

Actually, my character bandaged up Brendon's thief as he lay dying on the floor from your flame strike (nothing else I could do as Jeff's mage caught me in the Wall of Force). So he should be ok after a few healing potions.

As for Jeff's mage...well, maybe he/she was just knocked unconcious by your hammer instead of killed.

As for Viktor...I'm not screwing around with that evil SOB. If that pile of ashes so much as moves, I'm blasting it with a Cone of Cold/Lightning Bolt combo......

The only happiness here is that Al won't have me to kick around anymore...just my character.  :P

Al, is this your con game or the side game you are talking about? Because I forgot, you'll still make me a giant shrew's bitch in the side game... :(
