LJ was all over it. So while she was mapping in JH's event Sunday, I can give her some slack when her MU was hanging out by the exit door. Now, that Smarmy magic-user on the other hand.....

By the way...Mike, where all those pictures you shot?

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

You kids and your fancy-schmancy "pictures".  Back in the day, we carved images on stone to pass around a family functions and WE LIKED IT!

When I locate my camera and download.....I've already uploaded all of Al's shots and I'm slowly uploading them on Facebook, so there are some images there.  I should have them up in the weeks to come....

Kyrinn Eis DMing her Unique Fantasy/SciFi Game World
She sold some of her Pre-Publication Player's Book.
Only 12 copies exist of the Pre-Pub Book but Kyrinn was also giving away copies of a one page scenario of the same world setting/game to anyone who wanted one.
She had a large stack of those.

Matt explaning some fine points before the game starts.

Russel (red shirt) was the mapper in this one, though Joan was also there.

Amanda and Jason...
Posed picture? Of course not!

Al DMing Tegel Manor.
Jill is sitting next to him.
She also waited on the DMs (bringing them Drinks and such) so they could take fewer breaks and game longer.
Image

Steve Winter DMing his game.
Image

Robert Kuntz DMing his game.
No hack and slashing in this one.
Lots of folks talked about this one as being a real brain wracker.

Steve Winter showing off his Name Tag.
This was taken right after he got his packet from Mike.
I had just picked him up at the airport.

Doug trying to figure out the Cash Register.
Where did they write about printing receipts?

I'll second that:  Joan can you email me the pic of Jon and I at the table, please?  I don't think I've seen any other pics of us together there.

Some people actually like to map, Chris, believe it or not, and I'd guess Joan is one of them from how well she did it! :D

You caught some good shots as well, John! :D

Aw, shucks.  I suppose it makes me a double-geek, but I DID enjoy mapping.  Have never done it before. Of course, I had never done ANY face-to-face gaming before, so all new to me.

I'll send you the uncropped jillion-byte copy of that photo, Allan.  I have a few more, of Gnat and his grandson, and others, that I will try to get to them as well.

That would be great!
Was surprised to read that you had not done any table top gaming before...
Glad you got to do so at the convention this year and I hope you and your son enjoyed it and you both come back next year.

Gnat, those are great pics. Thanks for sharing! It was about that time that Colton told you to stop taking pics.

Well, you did quite well with the mapping:  I'll have to compare your map and Paul's for fun, too, but you did a great job, Joan :D

Thanks :D  If you're able to scan the map and send that too, I'd appreciate it (my copies got mangled in transit :( ).

Rachel was a hoot. I started to run a second game for her, 1 on 1 to combat the candy-driven attention span, but Mr. Marsh came along and picked her up, as it was passed her bedtime. It was definitely a case of "Who is the Dungeon Master?" when you play with Rachel. We promised her that she'd have the chance to play again next year.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: thank you all for hosting an excellent con. I had a great time and am counting down the days to 2011.

//H

I kept telling her not to make things up about my involvement with D&D and to keep out of the candy, and people kept telling her she could have more for free.

That "for free" really got her attention.  I made sure to limit my cash to paying for her and Heather's admission so that she couldn't hit me up for candy ;)

Stephen

Thanks for the surprise visit Steve....loved hearing you and Paul Jaquays talk about the old days.

Yes we will accept cheesecake in lieu of payment!

Rachel was a hoot. Favorite comment about her: "That little girl has three candy bars too many in her" and then "But her dice are hot! She's the only one at the table hitting anything!".  Heather was also very nice.  Comment about her playing the Circus Maximus game "You wouldn't expect someone so cute to be so bloodthirsty!".  Anyway Steve you have a couple of great kids there.  Love to see you all again next year.

Mike B.

Ah Heather, last time she was at Sandy's at the same time Paul was she won three board games in a row against the rest of us ...  She can be tough.

You do know she was four years varsity on the rifle team in high school, team commander her last year?

But I'm looking forward to bringing cheesecakes to compete with Tim Kask's pizzas and to doing the sword cutting demonstration.  Will probably need 4-5 volunteers, and I probably need to buy a spear, just to give people some ideas.

Probably should get the hilt on my katana blade replaced (I'm mid project) -- I've got almost a year to do it and it is a four hour project ;)

It is always neat to have people experience real swords and what cutting with them is like.  I'll start saving up 2 liter pop bottles (which you fill with water and use for cutting -- people who are really good can cut them even after they have been cut once and slice sections as thick as a pickle off of them -- I'm not that good.).

Regards,

Stephen

Guilty as charged. Next year I'll be sure to limit the candy intake to ONE freebie instead of "Take what you like"!!!!
