At the Jan 16th Heritage Auction, a similarly graded CGC 8.5 R1 To the Aid of Falx sold for $3,360 with the Buyers Premium factored in. The difference with the Heritage Auction R1 is that it was also still in its original shrinkwrap.

I really like that the seller included the following disclaimer:

Please note: All of my slabs listed are in uncirculated and new condition but sometimes books come back from CGC with Newton Rings and possible light scuffing/scratching. These are generally considered not bad enough for CGC to reholder for free. Major cracks/scratches and slab defects will be otherwise be noted if present in the listing description. If this is of any concern to you please message me before purchasing.

Seems up front and fair all things considered. It also reminds me that if I was holding a sweet set of rares Vismore-style with a shrinked B3 (would really like to see a high-res pic of that B3 Vismore:-), no way are my rares being shipped to slab town for paid sometimes...Newton Rings and possible light scuffing/scratching.  Say what?

The disinflationary environment we're in will kick in.. at some point.. we're already seeing it in housing and other assets. With that in mind, that's a lot of coin for old stock that's not particularly interesting (in my view) or unusual. But to each their own. Glad to see the hobby still vibrant.

Pardon our interruption...

I don't see these come up that often, any ideas on the best place to find them?

UK item, so harder to find in the US.

Available now from Die Cast Games: Night of the Black Swords by Allen Hammack (Author of C2-The Ghost Tower of Inverness) with artwork by Jeff Easley and Diesel.

Hello all,

I forgot to ask when this one ended.

Did anyone here pick this up?

I couldn't figure out the value for the dice.

Thanks,
Ronald

Seller sold it three times...

Holmes dice sealed in the original bag sell for about $200-300.  The other set of dice aren't worth a lot, maybe $30-50.

Sold for a decent price considering the condition of the boxed set and contents.  Final sale price was $650.

Jesus, digging into those auctions, that has shilling red flags all over it.

And despite the different letters showing on Ebay, it is definitely the same bidder:

3 bid retractions in 12 months with 53% of activity with this seller?  It sure looks like it.

This went relatively low, at least based on what I thought they'd go for:

‘The Beholder’ D&D Zines, c1979, fantasy RPG supplements; 12 editions, nos 1-12. | eBay

And:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Basically $1,000.00 for Beholders 1-24 seems like a pretty good deal for whomever got them.  Obviously weren't pristine, but based on how well the Wild Hunt zines did a few weeks ago, I expected them to go a lot higher.  Wondering if maybe folks just missed them,

Also, saw NKG had posted this earlier in the week and was wondering if that price was going to be too steep or not:

It didn't last but a couple of says, so I guess not, lol.

Not a lot of history on this, so apparently it was good enough for someone.

Ed Greenwood ran a single session of Into the Forgotten Realms at Gen Con in 1984. This was before the adventure was published in Dragon Magazine (and before it was included in the original Forgotten Realms box set). Through good game selection and more than a little luck, I got a ticket and played in the game.

Each player (I think there were maybe eight of us) was given a copy of the adventure, as well as a slip for their character. I still have my copy. I have never seen or heard of another, and so as far as I was aware, I had the only remaining one. Obviously, someone else kept theirs, and gave it to Noble Knight to resell. Given that this is likely one of the only two remaining copies of the Gen Con prepublication version of the first adventure published in the Forgotten Realms, I would think the price was a steal.
