Looks to be in great condition though.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

yeah i agree, i am not sure though that it is worth "that" much more than $1250 really, especially in today times, but yes, it look in fabulous condition for sure. it would obviously depend on what his reserve is though.

not sure there are that many around just now who would want to spend that kinda cash.

Yeah, I would suggest $1250 is about tops for a decent black foldered PoVQ in the current market. Would make a fine rare for anyone's collection though. I'd want to see better pictures, but it looks to be a beauty.

The counters are sadly almost always missing. They aren't really much, very similar to the battle system counters if I remember correctly.

Yes, the same style as the battlesystem. If all you are looking for is a play copy - buy a cheap copy and download a scan of the counters and print them up on cardstock. It would probably save you $50.

Needs a few larger untrimmed pics but the reserve might hint that the seller does know $1400 was the mark for a /good/ copy. No harm for someone interested to lob in a bid as a bargaining chip especially if the reserve cannot be set to the same level as the starting price?

Very unusual to see the outside of folder looking so smooth/even colored since rubs, discolorations, creases, etc. are almost inevitable given the non-standard size and distribution method (to say nothing of age...).

Good question, Allan, but a different copy.

That previous one at $1,100 had multiple folder faults along with a torn page and, despite interest from various people, the seller wasn't budging on their price... or so they said.

Back in The Day, the DM during our early Middle School/High School days kept several binders like that. When we bumped into each other shortly after college years later, he'd found them with his D&D stuff at his parent's home; I bought them along with the D&D books that he no longer wanted. They basically sat on a shelf for years, though I'd flip through them now and again and reminisce. Then he decided to get back into D&D when Third Edition came along... and I presented them to him as a gift.

Unfortunately, I think too many binders like that end up getting thrown out by parents or even their owners, without second thought... and of course today, most people keep their campaign notes in electronic format, and simply delete them when no longer wanted...
