And just like that, the bracket competition is over.

Congratulations to Tim from Just Guessing Here.  Well done!

Fourth place.   :?   I think that's better than last year....which isn't saying much with a depleted field.

The tourney has been entertaining.  There are no number 1 or number 2 seeds left!  ESPN reported that this tourney has the highest total of seeds since 2000.   Madness!   :bounce:

Wow....every NCAA bracket contest I entered.....is finished now.  And I didn't finish higher than 4th place in any of them.

Just for grins, anyone anywhere still in a competition where someone had either Butler, VCU, Kentucky or UConn in the Final Four, much less winning it all?????

GO BUTLER, GO BUTLER

Now Butler just needs to show cinderella the door.  I think Uconn will show Kentucky the door and the final will be Butler vs Uconn.

In my opinion, the defacto national championship is the Kentucky vs. UConn game as either of them should be able to beat the winner of the VCU vs. Butler game.  Then again, both VCU and Bulter have shocked me so far.   :?
Madness!  :compress:

I do not get how you can call the kentucky vs Uconn the defacto Championship neither of them have beat the caliber of teams that both Butler (beating a 9, 1, 4, and 2 seed and VCU (beating 6, 3, 10, and 1 seed.  Kentucky has beatin a 13, 5, 1, and 2 seed.  UConn has beaten a 14, 6, 2, 1.  Butler has had the toughest road to the final four and has proven both last year and this year it can beat any team.

I don't disagree that these other teams have had a tougher path.  VCU and Bulter can indeed beat anybody.  But in my opinion, both UConn and Kentucky are better teams than both VCU and Bulter.  I wouldn't value my opinion too highly.  I came in fourth in the Acaeum bracket competition with a depleted field.   :?

My bracket looks so pretty now.  Before all that bloodshed starts on Thursday.  Good luck, all.

I am going to be so bad this year.  I have not been watching games or doing my homework.  Oh well, there's always next year!   PDT_Armataz_01_05

I've seen monkeys picking slips of paper do better than experts, so you never know!  One year at my office I was runner-up to the champion in bracket picking in a league of about 100 people and won about $100.  I had made my picks in the car while driving to work that day because I'd forgotten to do so earlier.  The winner, who went home with a pocket full of cash, was a female receptionist that knew nothing about basketball and had pretty much picked names based on whether she'd heard of the school or not.  So there you go!

Yeah, as the saying goes, even a blind squirrel can find an acorn once in a while.     Thanks for the encouragement.  We'll see.

When I saw the title of this thread aka the 'Hey Bracket Breath' was I the only one who went "Bracket Breath? Is that a special attack from something in Fiend Folio?"

Sigh, once I realized it was about Basketball I knew I had nothing to add here except to extoll my nerdy ignorance. Good luck to you all anyway.
