Hi all - I bought this last night then thought....naw, that can't be real.  Managed to cancel the sale (whew!).  After reading through this thread I get the sense this is the same dealer again...but not sure.

Interesting.  The post/peg that goes into the belt hole is correct.  But the piece that connects the buckle to the belt is still off.  :?

I asked for clarification on it being listed as "new" - as not all his "vintage" buckles carry that designation - but he didn't reply.  I didn't give him long though, canceled the order pretty quickly.  Also, even though I bought the "last one" - the listing didn't change or get marked as sold.  There was still a "last one" posted after I made the purchase but before the cancellation went through.  Just all doesn't add up.  Certainly if the guy sells belt buckles so exclusively he must have checked ebay prices at some point!

The two original guys running this scam were Joe Pendleton and Michael Pearson (2015).  The Etsy seller's name is Mike Parish (MP, like Michael Pearson?!?!?!).  I contacted the seller and asked if they had more buckles.  Mike Parish responded, "I have 9 left".  I asked if the buckles were recasts and he replied, "I have no idea..these were bought with a huge collection of buckles".  $29.88 each or $19.88 and free shipping for three or more.

More investigation is warranted, but my suspicions are definitely raised.  :?

A clearly counterfeit buckle on Etsy.  I contact the seller for clarification and reported it to Etsy:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1518002467 ... d-dungeons

They're also on Ebay:

New TSR Game Wizards Hobbies D & Dungeons Dragons Mod Board Game NOS Belt Buckle

$675.00  (fixed price)       Buy It Now

Seller:  vintagebeltbuckle
