Hmmm.  Tried to reply to a PM and got the following after 30 seconds:
Couldn't get mail server response codes

DEBUG MODE

Line : 117
File : smtp.php

Going back in my browser and resubmitting was successful.

anyone else hate the muppets who hide a virus in a downloadable file. I even scanned it and it came up clean! It's taken weeks to wipe my laptop and start again....

I didn't really know where to put this as I figured it wasn't interesting enough for the Interesting Items Currently on Ebay thread.  I saw this auction of "Dungeons & Dragons collector cards".  I was trying to figure out what these were.  They don't appear to be from the 1991-1993 Trading Cards set.  Are they from the Spellfire or Blood War CCGs maybe?

I don't know about Group 1.  Birthright boxed set, maybe?

Groups 2 and 3 have the FPG logo, which means that they are non-sports trading cards.  Various artists have had card sets released by FPG.

Birthright "The Rjurik Highlands" is where those cards are from.

Reading this makes me glad I never got into online gaming that much:

86 stab wounds...and he denies that he murdered the guy.  What a nut job.  :?

Don't show that to my 10 year old. He loves spiders and will want to get one to keep as a pet.

For all you Brett Favre haters out there:

Don't read it if you are offended by lots of vulgarity.  Pretty funny though.  Kinda reminds me of how I felt when the Cowboys signed Terrell Owens.  :)

I like Brett, am fine if he does go to the Vikings.  It's just his quirk at the end of his careers .  Do I hope Woodson gets 3 INTs from his each game the Vikings play the Packers, hell yeah.  Do I want Favre sacked by the new defense of the Packers, yeah.  But if the Packers don't make it to the Superbowl and the Vikings can then I hope Brett gets another ring.
So play on Brett, or wait for Something About Mary 2

If I want to play or run a 3.5 game, what version of the Dungeons & Dragons for Dummies book should I read?  I have seen at least two versions of the 3.5 book and one version of the 4.0 book.

Or do other, better resources (paper, electronic, web) exist?

Just shoot yourself first....

Did you manage to get the Indian people at your hotel interested in running a pickup Eberron game or something?

Random question. Does anyone know if old console games such as Colecovision and Intellivision are fixable? Or once rogered forever rogered? As a teenager, we had an Intellivision, but once one of the handsets became non-responsive we were never able to use it again. Is this the sort of thing an electronics buff could tinker with and fix up?

The biggest problem for repairing legacy equipment is parts availability.  If you have a couple of the units to scavenge parts from/experiment with, your chances are much higher of fixing the problem.  In some cases, it's as simple as a blown capacitor (salvaged a 32" LCD tv for $23.50 after doing some homework online about possible causes for a power issue).  Most of the older video game equipment is solid but the controllers were the largest problem (given that they were the part that took all the abuse).  Without opening one up and checking it out (sometimes difficult due to "closed cases") there's no way to tell.

There are countless websites that show you how to do repairs on consoles but most of them are geared toward only one brand.  You might take a look at the forums here:  http://digitpress.com/  The Technical & Restoration Society threads have a lot of decent information about pretty much every console known to man.
