.... and as Mars says, Black Lion Games is a dark and dingy hobbit hole, always worth a look. There is also A1 Commics through in Glasgow which has a constand flow of 2nd hand collections passing through it's doors.

For the rest of the more cultural stuff Tourist Info would serve you well. The Castle is an obvious one at the top of the Royal Mile, and you have Holyrood Palace, the Scottish Parliament buildings and Arthur's Seat at the bottom of the Royal Mile. Strung out between the two, ends, are a couple of museums incl. the Museum of Childhood, Mary King's Close, and some fine eating. One street over you have Clamber Street Museum, the extension to which is one of the finest pieces of Architecture build in the city in the past 20 years.

Princes Street is the main shopping street, but it is passed it's finest. It used to have character, but it is mostly a dive now. They are trying to revive the central shopping district with cafe culture, and to a certain extent it is working, but it has a very pastiche plasticy feel about it, and you can get that in any major city in the UK.

Nice trip! The Isle of Lewis is the end of the world stuck out into the Stlantic, although two days is maybe a bit much unless you are planning to hike or do watersports. Although it does have the Callanish stones

Which are cool, especially if you do an early morning, or sunset visit.

You can easily put in more time in Edinburgh if you need, no lack of fun to be had, and Skye is beautiful.  I would recommend visiting a distillery or two.  Skye only has one - Talisker (which is delicious and not as harshly peaty as some of the Western malts) - and worth going for a tasting.  Although you  can get plenty in the pubs across Scotland. Not sure why you are going to Nairn, unless it is for the Golf?  If you are driving up there, I would totally recommend going via St Andrews which is a beautiful old University town (the Uni dates from the early 1400s).

My advice is get out and about, do some hiking and hill walking - that is the best way to see the country.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.  Not sure how the wife will feel about traveling all the way to Scotland to hit a game store, but I should be able to swing it.    Unfortunately, Claymore 2011 is the same weekend as Gen Con, so I'll be in Indy by then.

We plan on a lot of hiking and walking.  I generally prefer out of the way places to cities, thus the visit to the Outer Hebrides.  Nairn was chosen just because it is centrally located, and I wanted to stay outside of Inverness.  We're renting a car, and from Nairn we can get to a bunch of distilleries, Culloden Battlefield, and Cawdor and Brodie Castles.  And Loch Ness, I suppose.

I did remember to make sure that the car is an automatic.  I'm not very good with a stick shift, and with it being the other way around and all . . . .

Renting a car is a good idea - and Loch Ness is cool (monster or not).

Way ot, but I'm hoping for some help, perhaps someone can point me in the right direction... I received a large box of stamp-collection in an inheritance... any thoughts: how does one get started organizing/appraising/selling stamps these days?

I will be heading to Vancouver for a week of vacation in September.
Anybody have any suggestions for decent game stores or used book stores?
I asked on the Yog-Sothoth forum and got one reply from somebody that listed four stores that I could have found with a simple Google search.
What I had in mind was a bit more info from somebody who actually lives there and shops in the stores that they mention.

The only Boston book store I know of is the London Book Store, run by Henry Knox.  I suspect it isn't open anymore.
