This looks familiar. Was this offered earlier or are all these huge lots starting to look the same.

It was noted in the Silliest Prices thread a couple weeks ago:

http://cgi.ebay.com/22-Box-Set-145-Books-Huge-Dungeons-Dragons-Collection_W0QQitemZ170322549789QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item170322549789&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Seller has lowered the starting bid from $1900 to $1000.

This one is approaching reality though.  There is enough here for a dedicated reseller to maybe make a profit at this level.  Based on what I could use for my collection, and minimal amounts for items I'd resell/trade, another price drop could make this one interesting.

Its still way too high for a reseller lot.  Maybe if they cut the price in half again it might be tempting.  Right now they are looking for someone that wants the bulk of it and just wants to combine shipping.

Even at half price this lot is risky. Are these complete? What condition are they in? It mentions that the older items are well worn. What does that mean?

This is a very expensive pig in a poke

Yes, I should have qualified with "if they're complete."

The Collector's Trove wrote:Howdy,
Most importantly it includes a set of character sheets for Illysia Morningstar, a character mentioned in the back of the Dungeon Masters Adventure Log and in Steve's Alarum's & Excursion articles and possibly in a few of the Wild Hunt articles. This character was a mainstay in Steve's D&D games when he was a player. She was also used as an important NPC in later games DMed by Steve

Just curious, from the original thread several years back

viewtopic.php?p=41262&highlight=marsh+collectors+trove#41262

...was this set of sheets won by Harami2000 several years ago?

This lot is freaking HUGE... 8O  8O

No...    its WAY beyond that.... MONSTROUS even.

WOW! 8O

The BIN at first seems totally way over the top...  Not so...

I counted 32 DF large box sets alone, not to mention the hundreds of loose pieces the seller states and the hundred or so Treasure pieces and other small DF items. Adding up JUST the Dungeon Forge complete box sets (With the boxes) and Wiz Kids items alone (assuming $100 each for the DF, although they almost always sell higher) and the total amount would be higher than the BIN.

Then you get to the hundreds of minis (I counted about FORTY plastic boxes/caontainers of them) and dozens of Modules and books a complete copy of DCC 35 which also runs about $100....

OMG:  ...just WOW!   8O
