The liberal immigration policies of another elitist European country have come back to bite them on the ass;2. The Swedish riot police are by far the hottest riot police I have ever seen! These dates are final, barring something unexpected. We think there won't be any delays from here. What could go wrong? Something happening to the factory; assembly issues; enemy cyberships lying in wait outside Hong Kong harbor; BGG-Zilla coming to life and stomping all over. You get the picture.
Badmike wrote in Former Thoughts or OT Chit-Chat Thread:I just happened to notice (while recovering from the con and weeping into my breakfast cereal as I look at the giant mountain of Easley art prints I have to ship) that today is my 10 year anniversary of signing up for The Acaeum. It has been an interesting decade. I was invited to join the Acaeum a few months earlier but never got around to signing up, and once I did sign up it was another year or so before I started posting regularly. I am very, very happy I found this community, it is not exaggerating at all that what Foul started here really changed my life at a time when there were a LOT of changes going on (I had turned 40, had just found out my 16 year old daughter was pregnant, and was in the process of building a new house and discussing with my wife quitting my job of 13 years and working from home). Logging onto the Acaeum and meeting folks with such interesting names as Beasterbrook, Grodog, Plaag, Dbartman, Harami and others who were here before me gave me something to distract myself from the real world craziness going on at the time!I have met dozens of Acaeum members face to face and I consider some of them my best friends. It has been possible through this forum to find items I would have never located on my own, and played in many rpg sessions that let to tons of laughs and excitement. Through involvement in this forum I was finally convinced to go to Gencon by Kingofpain and Killjoy, and got to meet all my childhood heroes and legends of the game there. And, of course, I don't think there would have been a NTRPG con if Doug and I had not met here over six years ago. Thanks to Foul and everyone here for the happiness and fun you've brought me through the past decade! I'll shoot for another 10+ years here before I croak, I promise...Mike B.Now, I just have to keep slogging away at that Killjoy total post count record......still a 1000 more to go....sigh....
Badmike wrote in Former Thoughts or OT Chit-Chat Thread:And of course Foul has just pointed out to me that my 10th anniversary isn't for another 12 days.....proof positive that I am old and losing it!!!!!We'll just celebrate a little early, what the hell, no reason to pack up those bottles of champagne and whiskey...Mike B.
Badmike wrote in Former Thoughts or OT Chit-Chat Thread:Thanks for the kind words guys, it really wasn't a compliment fishing party, but I'll take it.... Zach, I would not get your suitcase packed just yet:These dates are final, barring something unexpected. We think there won't be any delays from here. What could go wrong? You get the picture.Stated jokingly, but still...Plus, they are charging you $25 to attend??? Cmon now. After the money they got, they are now charging the investors $25 each for the privilege of picking up their game. Considering how late this was they instead need to have each copy personally delivered by a NTRPG con serving wench who also humbly begs for an apology. That being said, if you want to go Zach, I'll meet you there, get drunk, and steal some nerd's copy...Mike B.

Acaeum is on that short list. The insight, knowledge, and general, good-humored banter found here is too important to miss for long. Summed up: Just a freaking awesome site.~throwi
